Let's Go Back In Time - Part 11
It's time to continue my photo series taken at the Astra Museum situated in Sibiu, Romania.
This is a typical rural house, made of wood and and covered with pise, it was very common in those days, maybe you can still find some in remote areas.
The furnace and stove that was used once to bake bread and to cook food daily. Next to the furnace you can see the wooden shovel that served to put the dough into the furnace and take out the bred.
Most of these houses are from mountain areas where people were making a living keeping livestock, mostly cows and sheep for milk, pigs and chicken. The room here must have been some kind of workshop where the magic happened, I mean where the milk was processed to get milk and butter. Those wooden vessels or pots were used to store milk. and the narrow, long one on the bench is for making butter.
There's a yoke on the wall and everything is made of wood and by hand.
This was the room, sometimes the only room they had, kids and parents were sleeping in the same room. Those cloths are all handmade and hand decorated, the plates on the wall were used for eating.
A small bed for the parents and the kids were sleeping above. In front of the bed there's a wooden box for clothes and in front of that handmade wooden box there's a tool which was used to make yarn out of wool.

Lehet, hogy érdemes lenne beszerezned egy 3D kamerát, és vr-felvételt csinálni :) Szerintem nagy sikered lenne azzal is :)
Lehet majd egyszer arra is sor kerül, de az nem most lesz :)
Akkor hajrá :) Szerintem neked befektetésként is beválna a dolog :)
I love that old house and all the hand-made wooden items. I wonder if people were happier then without all the modern technology? U+R :)
Thank you Keith for your support, it's very kind of you! You might be right, I was wondering the same thing, life was simple in a way back then and happiness meant a totally different thing back then. :)
Thank you!

That old house is a dream. I would love to live in such a nice and cozy place. Having flower pots at every window and that nice wooden porch.
Nice photos, Erika. Thank you for taking us in this virtual tour. 🙂
I'm glad you like it Roxy, but just think about all the things you are going to miss from your actual life, like running water, big and bright windows, electricity, wifi ... :P
You're welcome, I know you're going to visit the museum one day :)
