Wildlife Surprise / Überraschung

in #photography5 years ago

Actually, I wanted to get up early this morning and take macro photos at the reservoir while it is still cool, and the insects are tired.

I did get up early, but I did not take any macro shots.
At the lake, I first screwed the telephoto lens to the camera, and that was good, because when I wanted to photograph the group of swans on their morning round at the lake, I saw something swimming in the water:

Ich bin auch früh aufgestanden, Makroaufnahmen habe ich aber leider keine gemacht.
Am See habe ich zuerst das Teleobjektiv an die Kamera geschraubt, und das war gut so, denn als ich die Gruppe von Schwänen auf ihrer morgendlichen Runde am See fotografieren wollte, habe ich etwas im Wasser schwimmen gesehen:

Beaver / Biber
Castoridae

In total, there were two beavers, one big and one smaller. The big one disappeared again, but the little beaver was apparently curious and swam a few laps.

Unfortunately there was a lot of bushes on the shore, so although I had a good camouflage, but therefore did not get closer.

The camouflage I probably would not have needed, because the little beaver has seen me exactly, and has submerged, when he has noticed that I am not that interesting ;)

Actually, I wanted to dedicate my today's post to the featheredFriday of @melinda010100, which is why I have photographed the swans. "Unfortunately", the beavers appeared, and now my main motive has no feathers for the feathered Friday ;)

The photos were taken with the Canon EOS R and the Canon lens EF 70-200mm f / 4L IS II USM at 200mm (photo with the swans 70mm), ISO 320 and aperture f/8.

Die Fotos wurden mit der Canon EOS R und dem Canon Objektiv EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM bei 200mm (Foto mit den Schwänen 70mm), ISO 320 und Blende f/8 gemacht.

Thank you very much for resteeming my post, dear @pixresteemer 😊

That is so spooky. I just got talking about a beaver with @molometer and then your posts. You got some great shots, fore sure:)

Maybe it's even more spooky ... or not, but when you exchange the "P" with a "B" in my surname you get "Biber", what is the German name of the Beaver 😀😎
Anyway, I thank you very much for your comment, and that you like my beaver photos.

OMG ... I think we got a sci-fi documentary in the making:):):)

Haha 😁
In fact, many many years ago there was this robber knight named "Ritter Bibernell" in the area, where I have grown up. My ancient relatives have then changed their name to "Piber" to not get imprisoned.
This is the story I use to tell, when someone asks me, where my name comes from 😎

I wonder if there is still a reward:):):)

Dead or alive 😎

Thats a beautiful shot of the swans for Feathered Friday but wow cool you got to see the Beavers and got this great shots

I did get our for a walk today to relax a bit after a bit of a rough day, and saw a bunch of butterflies but unfortunatly not only did I not have the right lens but I had also forgotten my camera, but it was nice to see them :)

I really wanted to shoot the swans at first, but then the beavers swam across.
The bigger one was gone after a few seconds, but the little beaver swam a few laps. Unfortunately, the bushes were in the way.
Next time you will not forget your gear, but you had a nice and relaxing walk, what is even more important than photos 😄
It's a long time since I've photographed a butterfly, and I think, the best time of the day to shoot insects is early in the morning, when they are still asleep or too tired to fly away 😁

I loved the shots you got of the beaver they are less common to see than Swans so of course, you switched to focusing on them, and so cool the little one stayed around for a few shots

Good point about butterflies and insects so about to get my gear ready and head out shortly ;)

This curious little beaver knows now, that I am a good guy. Maybe next time he will pose again for me ;)
... and you are right, there are so many photos of swans around, but they are so photogenic, and everybody loves them :)

Ye slets hope you are right and maybe he can also convince the older ones that your one of the good humans and they dont need to rush away either

I hope so too, maybe I'll know in a few minutes, if the rain stops 😁

Good luck I hope they come out and let you get more shots of them

Not today - I think they don't like the rain. It's too wet maybe 😆

The shots are amazing despite you couldn't get as close as you wanted. Best regards.

Thank you so much @joelsegovia 😄
Yes, the 70-200 is great for landscapes, but for wildlife photography I am saving now for a longer lens 😁

I congratulate you, my Dear friend @Johannpibe, with the fulfillment of your dream! You said that you wanted to take a picture of a beaver, I see your success! Beautiful animal, you managed to catch his tail under water.

Good night to you my friend!

Thank you so much, my friend :)

It would be easier, if it was not at such a wide reservoir, but at a narrower river or stream, where I could photograph from both sides, but I am very happy, that I finally could take some quite sharp and pleasing photos of a beaver.

I wish you a nice evening and also a good night, my friend @barski :)

Wow! Very cute beaver baby! I could see brown feather on his face! This is a new kind of bird from another dimension!! Very beautiful nature surrounds you in the morning.

Thank you so much, dear @kaminchan 😊 Yes, we are blessed with a beautiful nature here in the middle of Europe :)

Have you seen a feather? Oh, then I could have used the photos of this unknown bird for the feathered Friday ... 😉

Nice shot of Beaver with his tail seen under water. :-)

Thank you so much @manorvillemike. I am glad, that the water was clear enough to see the tail :)

Beautiful macro photographs my friend. your photographs are always extraordinary and i really like it...

I thank you very much my friend 😄
Nice comments like yours make it so much easier to get up in the middle of the night to make some photos to show here on Steemit 😁
