This post would probably be a lot more relevant had I posted it just after Easter when I intended to, but in my defense, this is the 2nd time I'm writing it (I saved over the 1st one with another post)... but I was already late when I lost the first one :-) Anyway... you know what they say: Rather late than pregnant!

So first what is this? And why we do this? It is a chicken which is sitting on a bottle of beer. Trust me. It will be the most juicy Chicken you ever have tasted. The beer will wet it with a continuous light taste of beer will avoid that it will get dry... So juicy and crispy 🍗

Steaks + Beer + Feta Cheese & Watermelon Salad = Summer

Brace yourself: summer is coming! Who thinks that a barbecue with steaks and beer is overrated can stop reading this post right now. Actually these photos are from last summer but I still remember this awesome Saturday afternoon. I bought five big slices of Ribeye-Steaks, some great spice for steaks and some delicious beers. Then I turned on my dad’s barbecue on maximum heat and got that nice smell of roasting meat immediately.

Apple And Cinnamon Muffin Anyone?

Snack time for my toddler has become quite the challenge; 1. Because my little guy is a fussy eater and 2. His school is quite strict on parents only sending along snacks that are low on sugar, preferably sugar free. Since EVERYTHING store-bought seems to contain sugar these days, I find myself baking most of his snacks and treats. But even this task can often become complicated, since we apparently love something one day, but not the next (sigh, the life of a toddler).

There's a really lovely little cafe near me. It's the sort of place that serves very home made and rustic sorts of food, simple recipes with quality ingredients. Quite a lot of their dishes are vegan or vegetarian friendly too.

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE CHALLENGE

In addition to being a complete wine glutton hehe, I am also a HUGE foodie as my @steemitbloggers family know well… I absolutely LOVE to cook (and eat...lol) - always experimenting with different ingredient and flavour combinations. I seldom follow recipes verbatim – most of the time, I will whizz through them, glancing briefly at the ingredients and method – then heading off to the supermarket, forgetting most of what I have read on the recipe and then improvising,
ending up with something totally awesome and unique!

I know how much I love pushing the boundaries and experimenting in the kitchen, no matter how outlandish the ideas may seem to others. I also love to learn from others and then adapt the ideas to my own tailored tastes. So I thought it would be awesome to see how creative other people get in their kitchens... whether it is a "pimp'd" toasted cheese sandwich or a "rebel" gourmet appetiser.
