I have moved all my content away from the now centralized and controlled Steem blockchain to the decentralized Hive blockchain.

Sort: ย

Face it, If your a minnow, you missed the Steemit train. The way SteemPower effects everything in this platform, it your not sitting on 100k Steempower, your wasting your time.

I disagree 100%. That is only true if you compare Steem to other cryptocurrency as an investment to make money by just sitting on your coins. But this is a social media platform that lives from the interaction form the people. It is irrelevant if you were lucky to be here early because you can still earn it. Yes, it is much more difficult now but who cares? It is still a lot of money here to make. I have gathered 1000 Steem in 11 weeks and that is more than I have ever owned in my entire life. It is a big deal to me. If the Steem price should ever go up to 3$ I will be incredibly happy. And the best thing about it is that I didn't buy it but earned it for my work here. Before that I was earning 1,50$ an hour for rubbish translating jobs.

We'll agree to disagree. Its great you have 1000+ followers, no doubt your content is good and you will make money on the platform.

Lets just be real, if you have 2 identical users that create great content with the same amount of followers. The user with more STEEM POWER will make lots more money for the same effort and passion!

Is that fair?

I didn't have any Steem Power when I came here. I started with zero and here I am a few weeks later. I don't care if it took me longer than someone who bought Steem. I think it is much easier to be successful on STeemit than on YouTube for example. There it will take much longer before you make any money.

By the way, just because we disagree doesn't mean that your comment isn't worth a Tip! :)

I also disagree. I don't think it has ever been "easy". No matter what point you joined the site, you've always had to work for your dollars and power. It's not like people joined when this first opened up and they became millionaires. No matter what platform you join, you still have to work for it to earn anything. YouTube you have to post content that people want to watch, blogs have to post good content and drive traffic for ad revenue, and Steemit is no different. If you want to climb, you have to work. Nothing is handed out for free.

When your hoping for a whale to (upvote) your great content......that smells a little fishy. If I think your awesome and upvote u, you might get .007c.

A whale upvotes u and y might get $5-10

The difference ----> STEEMPOWER

So yeah..... getting in early in STEEM has a definite advantage on the platform over Minnows. For minnow to to become a whale, the minnow will have to earn or invest a sizable amount of capital

For minnow to to become a whale, the minnow will have to earn or invest a sizable amount of capital

Well, that is how it works everywhere with everything. You have to earn or to invest. And those who come early profit the most. What is the alternative to that? What do you propose? Why are you so upset about the platform that changes so many lifes for people who came a) late and b) have zero money to invest and yet make a great living from the platform? None of them cares about the early adopters.

really doesnt matter at all, its exciting for the newers even without earning, just the feeling you can contribute to collective evolution or knowledge, teaching interaction, cooperation, solving everyday issues by you instead of me, preparing whatever platform for the best use chosen wisely by who ? people who treat each other respectfully.. steemers ? who know where the society needs to go to find the point , since when the needs will be fullfilled for the fully relaxation - sences balance

Thank you again. Yes, I'm just beginning to learn the importance and techniques of commenting etiquette. I wouldn't say I've ever been a spammer, but I've definitely favored content creation over comments, especially in the beginning. Surprises me how vital this "Reply" area can beโ€“I'm seeing that this is where real connections are made here on Steemit.

I think the reply function is the only real way of interacting with each other. Without it all posts and comments would be a one-way train.

Here is a Tip! for your effort. :)

Thank you for this. What a nice treat. Hope you enjoy your weekend.

There are so many cool things coming this weekend, it will be epic!

I think it is funny when I read the comments, especially on a post that is kind of rubbish to begin with, or not even educational (like just a picture) and there are replies that say "thank you for your post, it helped me out!" and it makes no sense! I post a lot of comments, but I also read a lot of articles on here and I try and make it a point to leave some kind of details about why I liked the person's post. I think this helps so that people know what they are doing right and what isn't really working about the content they are posting. I know that when I post, the few comments I get, it let's me know if people are actually reading and taking in the information that I post.

Yeah, people try to grind the website and go through hundreds of posts each day just to accumulate something in the process. But eventually everyone realises that this is not leading anywhere but spam.

I think it is ok, as long as they are giving constructive feedback and not spamming. Like I said before, I post way more comments than actual content, but that is because I read the content posted and try to reply with more than just "good post". I feel like I don't have a ton of good things to post on my blog, so I just would rather read some things that other people have posted. I know there is no way I could ever make a living off of this, but I do enjoy reading some of the things I find on here.

I think when you become a clever commentator you do can make money with this. It requires its very own strategy but is certainly a value for the platform in any way. Authors need the support and interaction of readers. If all readers never reply it would be very dissatisfying.

If you have not much to say you can still check out contests and challenges to get some more interaction and maybe win some Steem. That can be a lot of fun. There are even games where you can win. I nearly forgot your Tip! for your great engagement. :)

Thanks flauwy! You know you don't have to tip me, that's not why I'm here. I come to educate myself and learn from others who have been successful.

That is nice of you to say. But currently I want to tip good comments to show everyone else that it is worth engaging with me - at least sometimes. ;)

This post has received a 5.28 % upvote from @booster thanks to: @flauwy.

You are an inspiration to us all @flauwy.! I myself try to leave comments that are beneficial to the post author, but must admit that I have left comments that were a bit lackluster on occasion. Posts like yours encourage me to be a better and more productive member of the steemit community. I thank you with the utmost sincerity โ˜บ๐Ÿ‘keep up the good work ๐Ÿ‘

Man, I did the same! I remember that I just spammed comments in my first days. They usually didn't get any feedback. Then I switched to spam comments with a huge animated graphic of my avatar. That was stupid although lots of people liked it because my mouse is cute. But generally that is a bad idea as well. Comments like yours now are the way to do it right.

Here is a Tip! for your effort.

Why thank you sir, I am grateful for your tip and humbled by your reply.. cheers ๐Ÿป

Sorry . . . I had to ๐Ÿค—

Totally worth a tip!

I agree I am still new 1 month and just over 100 users, but I'm patience and want to network with people, learn new and interesting things, build a community that may lead to real things and grow as an individual and as a whole. Thank you for this informative post I think I'm going in the right direction and your video just sealed it.

thanks you @flauwy for the tip and @tipu I appreciate the tipu.

Fantastic that I can help to clear your path. Whenever you have a question come and ask on Discord or Steemit.Chat. :)

Here is a Tip! for your nice comment.

Nice post :P Seriously though, it does baffle me how anyone thinks that just saying nice post adds anything to the conversation. It's like saying "how are you doing?" to someone you meet in passing but not bothering to listen for the answer before you move on? (One of my pet peeves in life)

If people would just realize that steemit is about relationship building and not just about saying something to get an upvote. Treat steemit like a coffee shop or bar where you go to meet new friends or have real conversations.

I am not familiar with tip you. I don't have much power in my upvote but sometimes would like to give a little more to someone who has provided extra value. Can you provide more information on that? A link maybe or better yet - a video (please, pretty please!)

Hi @lindasymonds, I like your comparison with a Coffee Shop. It does feel like it a bit. :)

You are in luck, I already made a video about @tipU. (You can follow the user link to more info.)

And thanks for your great comment. Here is a Tip! for you.

If people would just realize that steemit is about relationship building and not just about saying something to get an upvote. Treat steemit like a coffee shop or bar where you go to meet new friends or have real conversations.

steemit looks like a way of teaching the society how to act kindly, cooperate wisely and live responsibly. it connects virtual language with the real acts. each of us have needs. demands for fulfiling the needs lead us to grow, each of us has got a limited capacity, each person is its own mining machine, blocking the chain. when everything left behind, we gona take care bout our needs naturaly, without pointless using our mining machine for solving the same everydays strugless over and over again. nightmare of everyday stereotype, hope for the change. you wana make a change once you let go of your oldself, nowdays ways are a bit punkish, later it will be natural. right to live, eat, house, health service, socialising, production. once you relieve your soul from the unneccessary and useless stress, your minding machine can focus on the real issues mining much more values for this society. good luck with this huge project, may the people of this globe treat themselves the way steemers treat each other. thank you folks for your comments, every dot helps us to grow

P.S. I don't know where you live but it looks lovely! I love "wild" spaces.

It is Costa Rica.

thanks for sharing the experience you had when first starting out. i will keep that in mind for any future comments i might be making. thanks for preventing new steemians from making those mistakes :) by the way i like what your doing here on steem, you keep it real, i can appreciate that for sure :)

Hey @sensistar, thanks for your great comment. Take a Tip! for it.

What exactly do you find me keeping it real? I just want to know so I can use that as a positive feedback on the specific activity. :)

just the way you are, and how your just being yourself on camera, i think you have a certain charisma, of someone i could have a good conversation with, just your honest self :) you dont pretend to be someone you're not, and that is a good thing in my book :) oh and thanks for the tip :) ill be following you. have a nice day man :)
