GDevelop is an open source software for developing HTML5 and native games without any serious knowledge in programming. Developing a game is as simple as setting up an event; gather your resources and start exploring. There are lot of tutorials available on the Wiki for a beginner to get started, and you can also find the documentation there also.
You can choose to create platformers, puzzles, shoot 'em up, strategy, 8-bit games and even publish your games to the Web, iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and even Facebook Messenger.
This is my 12th translation report on the GDevelop project. Check out the previous reports: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th. Working on this project is really helpful to me, as there are lots of things to learn, which wouldn't have been possible without this kind of opportunity. With the basic understanding of how to create scenes, events, animations and the likes using GDevelop, it would be less difficult to make use of other basic or advanced game engines though some might require additional programming or graphic skills.
Some new words I came across this session and the translated text used are as follows:
'Vertice', a point in 3D space, usually given in terms of its Cartesian coordinates, is being translated as 'Ọ̀gangan' which was also used for 'point'.
'Waypoint', an intermediate point or place on a route or line of travel, a stopping point or point at which course is changed is being translated as 'Ibodè'.
'Encrypt' - 'Pàrokò', thus 'Encrypting' - 'Pípàrokò',
'Decrypt' - 'Ṣàtúpalẹ̀ àrokò'.
'Destination' - 'Èbúté', 'Expression' - 'Gbólóhùn', 'Distance' - 'Àlàfo', 'Timer' - 'Aago'.
'Anchor' and 'Hinges' are tools to hold an object to a fixed point and were both translated as 'Àgbékọ́'.
The project's translatable texts are a total of 25312 words and in this session I was able to translate 1404 words making an overall translated 16859 words (66% of the total). The project should be completed in 20 sessions approximately (~8 left).
