A. Introduction

From my previous posts on the main subject matter, I think I have been able to clearly distinguish the Actifit project and what it is all about. I have also been able to explain its importance for users and how new users can easily begin to use the app. The Actifit journey began just about three months ago and at the moment, it has blossomed into a household name as well as a very active project on the Steem. In addition to this, the project also boasts of an active community on Discord. You can always reach the community via this Discord Link - Actifit's Discord Server.

B. What the Actifit project Entails

Actifit is a platform/project built on the Steem blockchain. It is one of the fastest growing dApps on the platform and can be classified in the ranks of other great dApps such as Utopian, Steemhunt, steemSTEM and a number of others. Actifit as a platform aims to encourage healthy habits amongst members of its community. Its core mission is to incentivize users of the Actifit platform for engaging in fun and healthy exercises on a daily basis.

When you use the Actifit app, either on your Android or iOS device, in posting your daily report card, you get rewarded. This reward comes in the form of an upvote on your post from the official Actifit account as well as other rewards in terns of Actifit tokens sent out to your account on the Actifit website. You can also check details of your AFIT tokens by accessing actifit.io, logging in and clicking on your Wallet.

Just like a number of other dApps on the Steem blockchain, Actifit is always undergoing necessary changes to make it a better and worthwhile project. In the next few subtopics, we'd x-ray the recent updates or changes made on the Actifit app and at their long and short term benefits to users of the app.

C. Actifit and the New V2 Reward System

Just like other dApps on the Steem blockchain, Actifift strives to rewards its users for engaging in activities on all of its platforms. Users in previous times, could earn AFIT tokens for successfully garnering more than 5000 step counts every day. They could also gain these tokens by upvoting content from Actifit, delegating to the official Actifit account or being part of Actifit’s moderation team. This system has been in place since Actifit rolled out its app three months ago. However, there has come the need for a change and that change is upon us now.

Like I have previously stated, the major chunk of AFIT tokens went to users either according to their daily tracked activity or with regards to the amount of Steem power they delegated to the Actifit app. These two were previously the major parameters for rewarding users with the AFIT tokens. However, the Actifit V2 reward system takes a whole lot of other factors into consideration when rewarding users of the app and members of the Actifit community.
Below, we will look at some of these factors in details and what they portend for users.

D. Features and Backbones for the New Reward System

For the reward system to be successfully implemented, several factors have been taken into consideration. These include:

1. Actifit User Rank

Yes you read right, a ranking system for the users of the platform. Actifit has now implemented a user ranking system for actifitters and members of its community. This ranking x-rays each user’s participation on the platform and goes a long way to tangibly affect the rewards members get daily. To get the rank for each user, several other factors are taken into consideration. These include:

a. Delegation

Without mincing words, delegation remains an essential requirement for dApps to succeed on Steemit. While some dApps receive delegations from Steem Inc., others are funded by friends or investors. However, Actifit’s SP delegations comes from numerous individuals on the blockchain who love the concept of the dApp and wants it to succeed. Actifit as a project has shown that a dApp on the blockchain can be so loved by its community to the point of getting such whooping amounts of SP delegations that has helped it function properly so far. Almost on a daily basis, the official account of Actifit receives delegations from members of its teeming community as well as others.

This is possibly one of the reasons why delegation seems to be one of the most essential and unarguably the first criteria for determining the rank of a user. Thus, the more steem power you delegate to the official Actifit account, the more AFIT tokens you will receive. For delegators, their distribution system which sees them share from a daily pool of 100,000 AFIT token as with the old model, has been carried over into this new V2 Reward system. So delegation is an important criteria for having a high user rank on the Actifit platform.

b. Accumulated AFIT tokens

A second criteria which plays a big role in determining the rank of an Actifit user is the number of AFIT tokens a user has garnered so far either via delegation rewards, activity count rewards or upvoting rewards. In this case, users who possess higher numbers of AFIT tokens would also end up with higher user rank.

c. Rewarded Post Count

This is yet another criteria taken into consideration in implementing the new user rank. More rewarded post counts would lead to higher ranks for members. This is also a way of rewarding users for continuously making their posts via the Actifit platform.

d. Recently Rewarded Activity

Some people find it difficult to use a platform for a long time, and abandon it after using it for a while. However, to encourage continuous use of the Actifit platform, Actifit has now employed recently rewarded activity as a criteria in deciding what rank a user gets. So active users will likely have higher ranks than inactive or less active users.

2. Moderation and Report Card Post Content

This aspect of the new V2 Reward system is the part I like the most especially as it is geared towards fighting abuse and spam on the Steem blockchain. Since the Actifit project kicked off, there has been an all-out war against spammers and abusers taking advantage of the system to spam the blockchain. Several of these spam posts happen through the Actifit platform and due to these kind of happenings, a number of people see this project as one that promotes spam which is quite untrue.

In the light of this, Actifit will now take the content of a post, and the moderation on it into consideration in the new V2 reward system. Thus, going on, users who have poor post contents would end up with lower upvotes. On the other hand, users with better and well edited posts, proof of activity count such as images and videos, moderation comments and upvotes will receive higher rewards from the Actifit project.

Essentially, it is important that when you as a user is crafting out your daily report card, take this into consideration.

3. Community Engagement

When you are part of a community, it is quite of essence to you that you make your presence felt. Actifit wants its users and community members to be more of active individuals instead of passive people on all of its platforms. Thus, Actifit will take some certain parameters into consideration when deciding on the score or upvote value for each post.

The first of this is the number of upvotes received on the post. How many upvotes you get on your post, will go a long way in determining the value of the rewards you would get from Actifit. This will have nothing to do with the value of the upvotes you get from these votes. The reason is simply to avoid people taking advantage of bots to rip off the new V2 rewards system.

The second parameter to be taken into consideration when calculating the value of the upvote on a post is the number of comments received on the post. With more comments made on your day to day report card, you are in a better position to get a higher reward from Actifit. All of these will determine the percentage of the upvote value you will receive from Actifit on your post, as well as the token rewards you stand to gain.

E. Conclusion

The Actifit V2 reward system further buttresses the fact that change is necessary for every system to grow. The good thing is that this new system will favor those who will be active on the platform. Inactivity leads to the death of a project, so this new rewards system will go a long way in rooting out inactivity, as well as abusers on the platform.
