A. Introduction

Actifit

For those unfamiliar with this project, the Actifit app is one built on the Steem blockchain. The aim of this project is to encourage users to remain healthy by engaging in various activities. These could include walking, football, boxing, running, basketball, martial arts, jogging, and even house chores or shopping.

The beautiful part – you get rewarded for exercising on a daily basis. I am quite sure you’d love to be rewarded for staying fit. The rewards come in the form of an upvote from @actifit on your report card, as well as the AFIT tokens according to your step count. I encourage you to keep using actifit as you will benefit both health wise and financially.

B. Say hello to our iOS App

When the actfit project journey began, the first app that was rolled out was an android app. Several updates to the app have been made in the weeks past. As at then, iOS users were really expectant for their own version of the app. I remember an iOS user who had to purchase a new android phone just to make use of actifit. Another user was forced to revive his dead android phone when it seemed as though the actifit iOS app would never come to be.

All that is almost over as you can now say hello to our new iOS App!! The actifit iOS app has been uploaded to iOS App store. We are waiting for final approval from the Apple store before the link for download can be released to the public. This is definitely a dream come true for the actifit team, as well as the ever patient actifit iOS users. You can now start out on your actifit journey in a bit!

The app isn't yet on the Apple store but I believe in no time, there would be an official announcement from the team lead.

i. iOS Early Access

As part of our final activities before rolling out the actifit app on the iOS store, we are giving some of our iOS users the opportunity to test the actifit iOS app. This is done under the Test flight mode. Users interested in testing out the iOS version of actifit before its release are required to state so in our discord group.

Simply visit our #ios-early-access channel where you will be required to drop your full name, as well as the email associated with your iPhone device. This is required by Apple as part of the prerequisites for interested users. You can also dm @mcfarhat or any actifit moderators on discord with your details if you are not so comfortable with sharing them on a public platform.

ii. First iOS Reports

After we had given a number of our Apple users early access to the iOS version, almost immediately, we began receiving report cards from iOS devices. This was quite faster than we expected. We are grateful to our iOS users who had waited patiently on us while our developer worked on the Actifit iOS app.

Many more applications for early access are pouring in and we are still accepting requests, Endeavor to send them through the right channels as stated above. Thank you.

C. Recent website updates

In my previous post, I mentioned that I would talk about some of our recent website upgrades in this post. The website of the @actifit is Actifit.io. This website allows users to log in and view their wallets. Users can also see the daily Actifit activity reports as well as the daily leader board. In addition to these, new functionalities have been added. Below are some of them.

i. News Section

The @actifit account gives out daily updates detailing app or website updates if any, the top 10 actifitters of the day and updates concerning our delegation status. These news updates can be viewed by visiting the @actifit account on steemit. However, with the recent upgrades, the actifit news stories can now be viewed and read on its website. Simply click on the “read more” and you will be presented with a popup screen with the news content.

ii. Upvoting ability

A frontend to the steem blockchain is never complete if the ability to upvote posts directly from it is absent. Actifit knows this and that is why our recent website upgrade now gives users the voting capability. You can easily upvote any actifit report cards you want to through the actifit website. This now eliminates the stress of searching for great actifit posts to upvote via the steemit platform.

iii. Swapping our old logo

Recently, we made a task request for a rework of our previous graphics. This included a change in our logo as well. Now, the actifit website has been updated to bear the new logo. This is in line with our mission to become a consistent brand across all platforms and to give our users the best resources to become healthier and stronger.

D. Abuse prevention unit – Additional Security Layer

In one of my previous post, I mentioned the abuse we were facing from some users and also some of the solutions we implemented to reduce this abuse. These included increasing the minimum word count for every activity to 30 words. We also mentioned plagiarism as one of the unforgivable crimes on the actifit platform.

Despite all of these, we still have users creating dummy posts, or using virtually the same content over and over again. We also noticed some users copying from other users. What is hard for us to deduce most times is if these users are just one individual running the different accounts, or a case of plagiarism.

We are committed to eradicating plagiarism on the steemit blockchain. On a few occasions, after carefully sifting through posting history of suspects, we have had no option than to ban both users. We will continually seek out these plagiarists and stop them from causing further harm to the steem blockchain.

To make this effective, we have also added an additional security layer on our post creation mechanism. With the recent security implementation, we will make use of encrypted data to tone down the continuous abuse of our platform by these serial abusers. We are hoping that these security patches will prove effective in the long run.

E. Delegation updates

As usual, the delegations to our actifit account are growing astronomically. This is a testimony to the kind of love we are getting from the actifit community. At the moment, the actifit account is at 111, 561 SP. We are really grateful to all our community members and the steemit community at large. It is our hope that you all will continue to shower us with the tremendous support we have been receiving so far. Big thanks to you all!!

F. Actifit’s Discord Community

Our community is growing tremendously on a daily basis. At the moment, we are now a community with a membership of about 400 individuals. We hope to clock at least 500 members before our next anniversary. We are grateful for the support so far, and every delegations pouring in from all nooks and crannies. We hope this love will continue to be showered on us for a long while to come.

If you have any suggestions whatsoever for the actifit project, feel free to chat up any of the actifit mods directly on discord, or talk to us on our discord server.

Thank you!

This is another very good post from you. As always, I am glad to see Actifit going ever upwards and onward.

Now, you probably know what I'm going to say: As good as it is, there are issues of style and grammar. I'll cite some examples:

  • "For those unfamiliar with this project, the Actifit app is one built on the Steem blockchain." This is clunky. How about: "For those unfamiliar with this project, Actifit is an app that is built on the Steem blockchain."

  • "These could include" is unclear. Could they? Or do they?

  • "Several updates to the app have been made in the weeks past" could work either as "in weeks past" or, if you want to be more straightforward, "in recent weeks" or "in the weeks since."

  • "As at then, iOS users were really expectant for their own version of the app." I would offer an edit, but I genuinely don't understand what "As at then" means. I would, however, replace "expectant for" with the clearer "looking forward to."

  • "You can now start out on your actifit journey in a bit!" The words "out on" are redundant. But the worse bit is that you have "now" at the start of the sentence, and "in a bit" at the end. It can't be both. I would go with "You can soon start your Actifit journey."

Thanks for the contribution, and I look forward to the next one.

Thank you very much @didic. I am always taking note of all your corrections and comments. Thanks for all your insightful comments on my articles.

"As at then" I was trying to say "Before now" or so.
