#1 Hike Review - Battery Point Trail, Haines, Alaska (Alaska Trip Journal 7/22/2018)

You may have realised by now I'm quite fond of hike posts, and this one by @carlgnash in Alsaka is great as its quite easy. The trail starts off in the thick woods which oddly enough have many massive boulders inside, these were actually deposited by the glaciers during the last ice age. He then takes a little detour along the pebble beach before rejoining the trail. There are many beautiful wildflowers all along the trail making this a very enjoyable walk especially when the weather is good, which apparently we're told is not the norm in Alaska.

#2 Unique Boat Procession: Romería del Cristo de la Salud en El Palmar

Having lived in Valencia in Spain for 10 years, @for91days have never been to the Romería del Cristo de la Salud, a boat procession before. This year the guys finally made it, or rather just managed to make it. A week before the procession, the guys tried to book themselves onto a boat but to no avial, so they decided to chance it and still go to El Palmar where the procession is held. They didn't have much luck either on the spot as everything was fully booked. Just as they had given up all hope, they saw a lady from one of the boat companies and went over to chat to her. Obviously their charm worked and a few hours later they were part of the procession, and sharing their great experience with us.

#3 A day get away from Taipei City to a unique natural village up the mountain 'WULAI'

@waybeyondpadthai continues her trip in Taiwan, today she went to a village called Wulai which is about an hour and a half away from Taipei. Wulai is famous for three things. First the aboriginals who have to have their face tatooted in order to be accepted by the ancestral spirits after they pass away. Second, boar sausages which apparently takes much better if you take a selfie with it! And thirdly, the natural hot springs which only the locals know about.
