Oakland Zoo / 奧克蘭動物園

In the weekend between STEAM Robotics camp and Gymnastics camp, we went to Oakland Zoo.

It was because we shortened our L.A. trip so we won't go to San Diego, so no San Diego Zoo this time. However, we like visiting zoo, so my friends suggested an alternative.

因為我們縮短了到洛杉磯之行，所以不會到聖地牙哥，當然去不了聖地牙哥動物園。所以我們就在兩個興趣班之間的週未去了奧克蘭動物園。

A very sunny day, very good for outdoor activities. Only drawback was too hot when got directly under sunshine. Eventually, we got burnt very hard.

那是一個陽光燦爛的日子，雖然是很熱，仍不失是一個戶外活動的好日子。

Oakland Zoo is not a wild safari so the animals are all contained in cages or enclosures. Good thing is that there is still enough spaces for them to move around. I supposed it could not comparewith San Diego Zoo, no.1 Zoo in America, but as an alternative for one weekend, it should be good enough.

奧克蘭動物園不是一個野生動物園，所以動物都是圈養在籠中或是圍牆中的。還好的是所有動物都有足夠的活動空間。當然，它應該不能和全美第一動物園的聖地牙哥動物園相提並論，不過讓我們消磨一個週未則是足夠有餘。

As all other zoos, you met with plenty of animals from all over the world.

跟到其他動物園一樣，我們看到不同的動物。

There was animals touching section in Oakland Zoo too. They allowed you to touch the goats.

這裏亦可以跟動物接觸。動物園安排的是山羊。

After a morning of activities, the girls felt hungry. Luckily there is a cafe in the Zoo. We had to ride the cable car (or what they called Gondola) to other part of the Zoo in order to reach the cafe. We later found out this cafe is actually part of the new extension of Oakland Zoo that is not yet completed.

經過早上的一輪活動，女兒們都肚餓了。幸好動物園有一個餐廳。坐吊車去到還未完工的動物園新園區就可找到這所餐廳。基本上這新園區就只有它在營業。

There were long lines for the food. To my surprise, the food was actually quite good.

可以想像到餐廳裏會是長長的人龍。而意外的反而是食物，比想像中美味得多。

Bonus : Outside the cafe you got magnificent view of the city!

還有意外驚喜：在餐廳外的平台可以看到整個城市。可謂一覽無遺。

Besides the Gondola, there was also a Sky Ride for you to enjoy the Zoo from above. That was a very good ride, can be better if the sun was not that strong!

除了吊車，還有這個可以乘坐。坐在上面就可以在空中觀看整個動物園。如果陽光不是那麼猛烈的話就更好！

We left shortly after the Sky Ride as we would have a gathering with friends that evening. Frankly, Oakland Zoo was not very special compare to others we've visited, however, it was still good for us as a weekend family activity.
