Nove Mesto nad Metuji - the castle's history and the fate of the owners - Europe trip - Czech Republic [part 6]
I greeting you, not from Poland, but from the Polish neighbor - the Czech Republic. We stopped in a small picturesque town of Nowe Miasto on the river Metuji. The Czech atmosphere caused a lot of warm feelings. Before leaving Poland for the US, it was one of the last places we visited just after Kudowa Zdrój.
Here is @margaretwise post about Kudowa Zdrój. ;)

Jan Černčický from Kacowa was founded on 10 August 1501 in the new town of Metuje. The city was built on a rock surrounded on three sides by the river Metuje.
The historic center was proclaimed a municipal monument reserve consisting of the Husa Market (Husovo náměstí) with the Holy Trinity Church from 1519, Renaissance houses with arcaded arcades and a castle.
In 2009-2011 the market was completely reconstructed. During the works, the well was discovered from the 16th century, which became a new distinct element of the market.
The attraction of the city of Nowe Miasto is the wonderful castle.
