Dean Visits 9: Beach Bummin' in Cagbalete Island (Philippines)

Hello Steemit friends! Welcome to another edition of Dean Visits. On this post, I will share with you my travel at Cagbalete Island.

We begin where we left off in my Dean Visits 8 post. So after a full day's exploring in downtown Mauban, we were greeted by the boat that we boarded on the way top the island.

I was intrigued by the "windshield" in the driver's seat. Haha!

After around half an hour barreling through the sea, we saw what we came for. Cagbalete is in sight!

Once we arrived in the island, we had 3 choices to go to our resort. Option 1: we could go by foot (trekking in an island? sounds awesome!). Option 2: We can do some horseback riding (roll like a knight, sounds super awesome!). And option 3: another boat ride (kinda lame). But since we were exhausted from our excursion at Mauban, we chose the lamest of them all. Sorry for letting you down guys, if it were up to me, I'll definitely choose option 2. Just sayin'. :) But nonetheless, the boat ride around the island was a good choice as I got to see the island shore for an extended time.

Since we were hyped to go beachin' and all, we immediately hit the beach once we tossed all our stuffs in the room we rented. By the time we went to the beach, cloud rains started forming up. But no one can stop us. I needed our Vitamin Sea. Now! 😈

Despite my enthusiasm, I was hesitant to leave my camera by the shore. Good thing this sweet one accompanied us around. Such an attentive "host".^^

I was glad to see a mangrove seed along the shore too. It is a sign that the local ecosystem is well taken care off. :) I had briefly discussed the importance of mangroves in my Dean Visits 3 post.

With that, we called it a day, had our dinner, then slept. We were looking forward to more island adventures and beach bummin' for the next day. But Mother Nature had some other plans. Since the weather forecast has turned for the worse, we had no choice but to cut our vacation short and just decided to go home. We didn't want to risk having a stormy weather stuck in an island (though the local residents were willing to host our possible extended stay). So without further ado, we packed our things and got ready to go back home. We wanted to do the horseback riding on our way to the island's port area, but since the pathways within the island turn muddy when it rains, we were advised not to do so (since we're complete noobs). Sooo trekking it is! It felt awesome to do it in an island while it was mildly raining. By the time we got to our boat ride back to Mauban, it was still raining. Thankfully, we got home safe and sound.
