Beyond monetizing content on Steemit

This charity program was something that i've wanted to do and be part of since early of this year, but since my focus then was toward growing steemit community in this region organizing meet ups , steemit bootcamp, steemit masterclass and all sort of presentations to NGO's and various body, i somehow couldnt figure out the time.

It was in our meet up at starbucks that got this project going, We in teammalaysia are grateful to @veenang, @beverlyjoe and @chanelcalestus for taking the lead to get things going , we help from #kkmusicscene #slc and the rest in TeamMalaysia supporting the cause, i am happy to say that it was mission accomplished and job well done to three of them whom get it going.

As for me, my mission is to get into the doors of the institution that runs the hostel, to get them on steemit so they dont have to beg for fish no longer in the future but be able to be fishers themselves, showing them the right tool through steemit and how to go about it so it became an avenue as an alternative sustainable financing mechanism for their organization. During the event, Mr Vincent who was the manager of the hostel, mention that i will be invited to do a presentation about steemit to their board members. The charity activity that was done was purely proof of concept that Steemit is a possible alternative sustainable financing mechanism. Next step is to get them fully onboard.

During this trip , we were not only sending all those goods, but we took the chance to have fun with those kids in the hostels, also celebrate the birthday of the month. All this is to ensure that our trip was more than just charity , we wanted it to be a meaningful event for the kids in the hostel and for us all steemian who attended.

@bitrocker2020, @cryptocurator , i bet, you guys wish you were here. hehe. it was a hell lots of fun spending time with those kids, and lots of teary moments too.

Enjoy these two video. one was a session one of the kid doing duet with @darryljonesjr, yet end up being so amazed. @darryljonesjr and @angeljames also gave some a tip or two as i see them from the distance was talking to the kids. it was really inspiring to see their eyes light up and seeing smiles from everyone.
