nothing is impossible in steemit

For a while now, we in teammalaysia sabah have been trying to do raise funds to a charity at San Damiano hostel.

When we started out couple week ago, we have for our target amount, of which at that time seems impossible. However in steemit, nothing is impossible.

This charity project is something that we been toying about, we are lucky that project lead @veenang, @chanelcalestus and @beverlyjoe took the responsibility to shape up and get it going. This time around, I took that back seat and assistand give suggestions when needed.

Having to achieve what we wanted to raise, yesterday was the day that we all get together and purchase all the needed stuff to send to the hostel by tomorrow

Since it's a work day, some of us could only meet at second location while others were at the 1st location, and of course most of them were unable to take an off day to be part of the purchase but I am sure everyone who didn't came along was there in spirit to support our goal.

Anyway the ultimate goal for San Damiano is not just to give a one off charity, our goal is to get them onboard to use steemit to create an alternative sustainable financing mechanism to assist them with their expenses to run the hostel. Hopefully one day, they can stop begging and generate thier own funds through steemit.

So this charity project is a just a proof of concept to share and show to the the likes of such organization that Steemit can work for them too.

On another note, I am happy that we now see more Steemian in Sabah is now taking leadership roles to get thing going for steemit. This is sign of progress.

Why Am I Here

Daniel Doughty loves his community and ideas but hates writing. Steemit is a brilliant platform that would help him express his thoughts and helps him practise his writing, he hopes to get better at it.

He is now a self proclaim steemit evangelist and preacher , encouraging his community in Borneo to use steemit as a bridge to the outside world to build awareness, showcase talents and most importantly to create wealth for themselves.
