Mission Accomplished - San Damiano Charity Drive

First of all, I would like to say THANK YOU to all who were involved in this First ever Charity Drive by the Steemit Community of #teammalaysia (Sabah). I would like to thank @veenang, @chanelcalestus, @viverridae and our Steem Ambassador @danieldoughty for their undivided support from the beginning of this project till the end. A special thank you too, to our Steemit Counterparts in West Malaysia, @bitrocker2020 and @myach, for their contributions, advice, and support. Not forgetting to all the other Steemians, groups and individuals who have supported us from behind the scene. I'm so sorry if I have left out anyone.

There are a few hiccups along the way, but we persevere and manage to handle the situations quite brilliantly in my opinion due to support from other Steemians. As is the case, when we were being informed by @bboyady the night before that he couldn't join us for the trip as his car broke down. We were a bit worried at first because some of the bags of rice and groceries are with him but we were saved nevertheless, as @angeljames and @daryljones came to the rescue, volunteering to use their car to transport the goods instead.

We arrived at San Damiano's Boys Hostel around 9.20am, and was greeted and welcomed by the warden Mr. Vincent Wong, staffs and the boys. They helped us to unload the bags of rice and groceries from our vehicles.

About fifteen of us Steemians came for the trip, you can see the joy on our faces even though it took us nearly 2 hours driving to reach our destination.

We were being greeted and welcomed by the staffs and the boys of San Damiano at the entrance of the hall. Other pictures showing the groceries that we brought along, including cakes to remember the anniversary of the death of San Damiano's Patron Saint, St. Louis De Montfort and those who are celebrating their birthday in the month of April.

@veenang giving a speech about our Steemit Community visit to San Damiano, @danieldoughty did some introduction about the Steemit Platform, @daryljones talks about music and performed his own single, the rest of the Steemians were introduced to San Damiano's boys by Mr. Vincent Wong.

Steemians and the boys are told to mingle and join the Teamwork Games, which are really FUN, brilliant ideas by @veenang and @danieldoughty.

These talented boys have prepared some entertainment for us, they sang in groups, solo and did a funny live-action drama too.

The last activity of the day, giving away hampers as prizes to the winning team for the Teamwork Games. CONGRATULATIONS to the winners. It was sad though that we were unable to give any consolation prizes to the losers, but we did tell the winners to share their new found fortune with the others, LOL.

We conclude our visit to San Damiano's Boys Hostel around 1.30pm. After saying our goodbyes, everyone adjourns and went their own separate way, some drive home directly and some took the opportunity to visit the little old town of Tamparuli, famous for its delicious Tuaran Mee. All in all, it was a very successful event and we are mightily relieved that our plan works so well without any major issue. We hope that there are more such charity activities in the future cause I believe that there are many underprivileged people out there that require help from societies who are capable to lend a helping hand.
