Super Bowl Week - Newbie Edition Is Officially Launched!
Who Likes A Good Party?
This week will feel like a virtual party as we have various game-makers all over steemit make many different games this week all designed to create engagement, provide prizes and of course lots of fun!
This week we at #newbieresteem initiative will be supporting game-makers all week by sending our newbies and minnows to their games. We love to integrate our people into anything that has fun, rewards, participation, and teaches us new ways to integrate into steemit!
We will encourage this participation because it is how we grow as a community together. Engagement is the single most important factor in growing your friends, followers, and improving your participation levels. So whether you're an experienced game-maker like @danielsaori "Steemit Comment Challenge" or a newer game-maker like my friend @deliberator, you are welcome to create your own game this week and we will help to drive the newer members to your participate.
Our Support Is Real And Its Free
All you have to do different is to "tag" your game with these 2 hashtags:
#superbowlweekne #newbieresteemday
That's it!
We will then put you on a daily list of games that are participating and we will incentivize them to play. We will not charge anyone anything, the week long event is free for both players and game-makers alike. We believe it is time for the community to grow together so we encourage as many of you as possible to simply tag your games properly so our members can find them.
For the "event" we have easy to follow rules:
Game-Maker Rules
#1 you tag your game with #newbieresteemday and #superbowlweekne
#2 you don't "cheat" your players in any way (like asking them to contribute to win)
#3 you encourage "engagement" in the comment section and judge if a comment is valid
#4 you pay out at least 50% of the SBD you earn from the post
#5 you don't post anything that is deemed offensive
#6 the game/contest/challenge does not have to be superbowl related. In fact we encourage all types of contests and the Super Bowl week promotion is just the vehicle to bring in attention.
(note: my guess is games designed around the Super Bowl itself might get more interest, but it is just a guess and we welcome games/contests/challenges of all kinds to participate)

Just to clarify, where will the guaranteed 0.05 upvote come from? I can give out 0.04 for the first 10 for example until I have to recharge again.
you do your best on the upvote and we will back you up... we are your teammates so we will be there to support you. Do not worry about that wanderlass.... you just use your charm and wit and make something that is fun! And its not about the prize... just give 1/2 of the sbd you earn as a prize... don't lose money. You will find out if you do this it is fun and you will be good at it! :D

Gosh @davemccoy. I don't know how you keep up with all of this! You must have an assistant or I am just starting to believe you are a WARRIOR of Steemit! Kudos! I would love to try my hand at a game, but I don't have any idea where to start!

You can do it... Its really easy... you tell me what area you want it to be in (3 questions, comment on a puzzle question or teaser, or sports related like the tied to the super bowl (trivia, game facts, stats guess or things like who scored the first touchdown)...
It could literally be any combination of things.... I would suggest in the first one make it simple... so even a 5th grader could answer it and compete... just to get your feet wet. (hint... you can do another game the next day so you really don't use up anything to try)
I would also suggest that you look at our 3 newbie game makers on how they pay out. Each has a slightly different way to pay out, but I HIGHLY recommend you don't risk anything. Not until you understand everything. People will play your game if you just try to make it interesting. Its really what its all about. So limit your payout to NO more that the SBD that you receive when you get paid from the post in 7 days.
Is that enough to move you toward taking a chance?
The steemit warrior is going to sleep in about 30 mins so if I don't get you before then I will be back in the morning. Just let me know but I can tell by your personality, you will have absolutely no problems.

I was just talking to my son about this my friend gave me some steemit/steem merch and I want to put it out as a "prize" so now I will just come up with a game and send it your way!!! If you want we could use what merch I have received as an extra incentive! I have 2 magnets for the refrigerator and a notepad. I will get pictures of them and add them inthe post.

The most important thing here is that we put in place a way that many people can start a simple game and let it become a win-win-win-win...
I'm glad you saw this because you can help spread this message. Its a good week to start this because the Super Bowl Week coinciding but the contests can be anything that your imagination can dream up!
I think @mudcat36 would agree that you can run both individual game and a game for the Newbie Resteem Initiative. I don't want to "volunteer" you for both (since I tend to do that with people that get things done), but the reason I mention it is you mentioned "we could use" as an extra incentive. That leads me to want to have you do an "authorized" NRI game to benefit the cause, but I also wouldn't mind you doing a game on your own too so that you at least earn a little for your efforts. I'm going to do at least 2 games myself!

I want to be a player and a game maker, I am working on a spreadsheet for one game, need some more learning to get it how I want and one contest that I just have to set the rules good enough before it’s ready to launch. Might need a day or to to be ready
I encourage you to experiment, that's the best way to learn... This is a good opportunity for everyone to learn, explore, and work together. Its a good start... I have the following suggestions that are just my opinion... But yes keeping it simple is the best.
On the first point, I like your idea of just giving out the TOTAL SBD. The purpose of the game is to attract new people, have fun, and establish relationships. You aren't going to get rich on this game, so the goal is to encourage as many as possible. This is the most you should offer, so I think it gives you respect by doing so. I like it a lot!
It is up to you on the "upvote" part... I personally never even mention it because I think most people that play will do so anyway. (especially the ones who matter)... Its up to you though, I've seen it both ways.
On the comment your suggestion, do you mean make 1 comment on other people's answer? If so, I love it. (if not, let me know what you're thinking and I will reply)
On the part: vote on at least one other answer (other than your own) ... I like this because it makes them read the other answers.

Yes on the vote part the object is to make everyone earn something from this if they make an effort and that people can see their creativity:-)
yes that is what I mean.. It encourages them to read other answers and to engage people they find interesting.... Its a subliminal way to connect people. (the goal in reality) ... so yes I like to have them so something simple but actually requires some thought.

Would a contest like "guess how many total yards in the SB" be an example? Winner gets $x SBD or something?
sure.. you can do so many things
get creative... just don't give out more than the SBD you get from the game. That way you win, the players win, and we all win
And total yards is cool and easy, you could even tell them what last years game totals were too... to get some analyzing going on ;)
I thought about doing a simpler contest. I want to give away a steembasicincome membership. Especially for brand new Steemians, that extra $0.01 or so can be a big deal.
I was thinking of requiring they upvote the post and resteem so it gets exposure. I don't prefer contests that require the upvotes and resteem, but I'd like to get something back. Would this fit with the rules you're proposing?
I'm not sure I will get 1 Steem back, but that's ok. Although, if the contest does well, I would sponsor even more people.
I like the idea of experimenting with new ways to entice people. First they learn something new exists and of course if its successful its regenerative. The only thing that I am cautious about is making sure the gamemakers don't get soured on making games if their first idea doesn't work out. I think you are mature enough to not worry about that being a problem with you.
Honestly I think most people will play the games for free (or close to it), so just make sure that you will make new friends, meet new people, and learn some new things. If you are ok with risking 1 steem, then I think its well worth the chance!
You will do good... I see your personality and it will come through in your game. So have fun give it a go and I think you will be happy with the result!

Don't offer any fixed payout, just give a percentage of what you earn (50% to 100%). And i promise you will find that you will do good...
