Travel - United Kingdom - Oxford - The switch...
After our friends that live in London took us on an incredibly busy day to see the main sites of London, we slept over one more night and headed to Oxford the next day. Here we would "switch" - other friends of ours would meet us to take us to Birmingham from where the rest of our amazing tour to Wales, Ireland and Scotland would commence.
Both my wife and I have PhD degrees and have a love for universities and post graduate studies. In fact, we had the same PhD supervisor who did his PhD in Lincoln College Oxford. So although we did not have a plan of what to see, the one thing we traced down and saw was Lincoln College. We also visited the Museum of the History of Science. It was not too exciting but there were lots of awesome time pieces and orreries.
We spent an incredible day wondering the streets of Oxford, checking out place that you can visit as a tourist. Unfortunately most of the Colleges are completely inaccessible without knowing someone currently staying there.
Our friend Christian got us there at the end of the day and we were ready for the rest of our adventure!

I live near Oxford and, while its a beautiful city I tend to avoid it as it is so busy with tourists.
