Travel - United Kingdom - London Part #1 - London in a day?!

London in a day?! Is such a thing even possible. I guess the answer is no, but if you had one day there, for your first visit, what would you do? During our epic trip that started in Paris, Bruges and Amsterdam, we found ourselves in London with friends for a day. So we asked them to show us the basics of London.

We got onto the tube early morning and made our way to the center of London. What a surprise when the first people we physically saw in London, sitting opposite us on the train, was actually from South Africa! We shared stories and plans for the day.

Our first visit was to Buckingham Palace, the queens gardens and observing the changing of the guards, but at the stables. We made our way toward the river Thames and Westminster Abbey to witness the famous Big Ben. Seeing the typical London red buses cross the Westminster Bridge with with Westminister Abbey in the background felt like something that you see on postcards. Stock standard London.

From here we made our way past the London eye, enjoying all the street artist next to the river. The first picture in this post is us on the Hungerford Bridge and Golden Jubilee Bridges making our way towards the famous Trafalgar square... but more about that later.
