Meet Marilla Anne
I met Marilla Anne shortly after I started here on Steemit. Through luck or divine intervention, I had stumbled upon the MAP initiative. This was started and is still run by @rycharde designed to help newcomers to succeed.
At that time, one had to apply with a link to a few of your posts you were proud of. If they met the standards, then an invite to MAP on discord and to a MAP contest was issued. Marilla Anne was one of the ever-present moderators in that discord channel.
Between her and @lindahaas, they made sure that someone was always there to answer a question immediately! That is dedication!
The first thing she did was change her username since our names are so similar. Marillaanne - Marianne - too much M and anne. Now, she was there for a long time and could have asked me to change, but I don't think that even entered her mind.
Marilla Anne was so patient in that discord - with all of us newbies coming in and asking the same basic questions, one after another. And the answer was there almost immediately. Thank you so much!!!
I personally can attest to her caring since she has been supportive of the adventures I started here on Steemit. She fully threw herself into the freewrite even though her interest was much more into mastering the art of fractuals.
If you go to her profile, you see many of them and each is more beautiful than the next.

About a year ago, Marilla Anne had an accident which is still causing her health trouble and headaches. Still, as soon as she finds out that someone is not feeling well, she directs all her energy to help them. Some of this is happening in real life and some here on this platform.
If you read this recent post, I think you will see why I am so happy to introduce this woman to you - and to be able to call her a friend.

I'll tell you a little secret about the name change. The day before you joined the group it had become obvious a few were having trouble deciphering my run together name. So, I had already decided to split my name apart, the next time I remembered to do it. Your arrival was a fairly impressive reminder to get it done.
Funniest thing ever about you and me that you don't know: someone once suggested to me that you and I were the same person.
How? In which universe? I dunno ! I took it as a compliment!
The husband and I have been traveling and conferencing all weekend. We're racing home to do a little mini passover meal with friends. 1.5 hrs more. Also, I'm missing my cats.
I'm looking forward to getting back on the freewrite trail and things have looked quite interesting over at @freewritehouse the few times I've gotten to peep inside. And what is this round 2 of in @steemusa?
And I think I have a story to write. I may have to use those forms I suggested to @byn.
@fractalizer and @woodywood143 helped me get back on the fractal kick. I tried to have an encounter with fractals some time ago but the then-computer couldn't keep up.
I have a secret plot for my fractals. We'll see how it goes.
In truth, my loves are equally writing personal essays and creating digital art of many types. Fractals are just kind of my newest obsession.
Thank you for keeping tabs on me while I seem to be wandering aimlessly around on Steemit. It encourages me so much!
