steemit: How to switch between markdown, editor & raw html when writing a post.

Markdown or raw editor?

For beginners, sometimes you need help even if it seems like its a stupid question.

No worries, I am here to help.

Assuming you may not be fond with the markdown and html editor.

When you write a post, you will get into this editor... here you are fond with a wordpad kind of editor to start with.

Looking at that upper right corner you have a Markdown toggle that upon clicking it switches you to the Markdown version

You may find this is easy now... however at a moment of time when you start writing... you may not be able to switch vice versa after that.

For instance when you go write in the basic editor... then you start to see the toggle shows the "raw editor"

If you click on it it goes into the raw editor and then forever you will not be able to see the markup version

The same applies to when you already start writing in markdown version, you are no longer seeing the raw html editor toggle.

So how do we go back if we just want to be picky and write on a different editor?

Easy, no worries.

Step 1:

You just copy paste whatever that you have written onto the local computer's notepad.

Step 2:

You will be able to see that the editor now goes back to the first editor mode where you will have the toggle switch to choose either a default editor or a markdown editor.

Then you copy paste from your notepad into this and tweak wherever you may like.

I didn't realize they have the rich text editor until about a month I am on Steemit duh! But by then I am more comfortable writing in markdown editor. And also I dislike the rich text editor because it requires you to upload your images elsewhere instead of drag and drop them into the editor. Thanks for sharing the guide. I am sure it's useful for the newbies.

hahaha, yeah this was one thing i struggled with... like i thought there can be a switch for it.. then only later i play around and found this hidden design...
