Chilling Waterfalls - KKB - Malaysia
Chilling Waterfalls
Chilling waterfalls, located in Kuala Kubu Bahru is a relaxing trail across 6 river crossings which after that you have a 3 level waterfall spot (2 waterfalls and the 3rd one which is the highest point)
Depending on where you are coming from, for now we will just take Kuala Lumpur as an example. This is about a 1.5 hour drive via the highway.
From the entrance you can now park your cars (last time there is no parking spots and used to have cars parked next to the road) no parking fee yet, not sure in the near future but I can see some initial development of some buildings next to the car park space.
some monkey business along the road
Taking a short walk you will hear some river waters next to it.
The entrance into the Sungai Chilling fish sanctuary is RM1. You reach the park entrance and you can find the office building on the left

solar panels on top of the park office
On the right is the bathroom and a small store selling quick bites like instant cup noodles and can drinks. The center area is a camping spot and there is a wooden shade as a resting spot.
At the park entrance there is a bridge crossing for river crossing 1. This bridge is made light weight and so for a safety precaution, it is only allowed to have less than 5 person (we limit 2 person) per crossing.
I would encourage people to cross the river because you get to see all the fishes in clean clear waters.
The first bridge/river crossing marks the no.1 river crossing. After this you will have another 5 with clear proper signage.
note, highly recommended: If you do not want your shoes to spoil fast, you may wear sandals or 100 percent water proof shoes for this hike, as normal running shoes that uses glue will wear off and tear into half after this one waterfall hike.
This is the first waterfall spot:
I brought my goggles and get to see the fishes as I take a dip into the clear waters
The experience was great as I was so enjoying swimming and see all the fishes. It looked interesting that when you look into their eyes, knowing that they are live creatures and you are like encountering them. They are many in numbers and they looked at you in awe wonderful. These ones are big sized, many about the size of an iphone more or less. They looked at you a human being swimming with them in your whole human form. I wonder what are those fish thinking about seeing real humans inside the water.
Note: fishing is prohibited in this area and it is protected by the park authorities. This is one reason the fishes are so many here. I recall years ago these fishes were not so many and they are small sized. I think after the many years now they have multiplied after so many generations.
And this is half-way going to the 2nd waterfall:
Do not jump into this... because the intersection downward after this is a very high fall, one may die if not just getting seriously injured. You can see how high it is in the first waterfall spot picture.
This is the 2nd waterfall:
The 2nd waterfall do not have as much fish as the first spot. However this one has a very deep spot near to the waterfall. Swimming to the waterfall is almost impossible as the current is pushing you back. It was fun that the many people tried to do it.
These are some artistic people using leaves to make some hats to wear, trendy jungle fashion I would say ;)

Heya, just swinging by to let you know you're being featured in our Daily Travel Digest!
Great post again! Looks like it gets pretty crowded down there though, haha!
thank you! I guess this is a very popular place to go to. Usually the easier hikes will have lots of people.
You're so welcome! That makes sense, any harder less crowded hikes you'd recommend?
