Today unMEAN sTWEETs Celebrates The Vibrant State Of The Steemit Community And Talks About The Amazing @giantbear!

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Today's unMean sTWEETs post, will cover some of its activities from the last few days. Ofcourse, unMEAN sTWEETs will be celebrating the most amazing comments from the past week, amongst other behind-the-scene activities.

You can be reminded of the unMean sTWEETs initiative and how it began here:

"unMEAN sTWEETs" Began And It Is A Steemit Giving And Receive Party!

In this post, we'll break the rules a bit or bend them!

Due to turn of events in the last few days; the most recent aim for unMean sTWEETs in the last few days, was to help in repainting steemit as beautiful.

In this session, we are celebrating mostly comments, that happened in the past few days, that showed the beauty state of steemit and its awesome community, even in the midst of some shakiness, and of course, we will show them off to you, to re-solidify our conviction in this platform and in its future.

unMEAN sTWEETs publishes its posts once a week, though, it works behind the scenes, through-out the week to spread love and help to highlight also, the "giving and receiving technology", that steemit has made possible.

unMEAN sTWEETs also visits the new steemians and start them up instantly, to this giving and receiving aspect of steemit and its technology; by testing the technology out, before them, in form of tiny steem gifts and ofcourse, an encouraging exclusive unMEAN sTWEETs to welcome them and instantaneous tell them of how awesome their journey on steemit will be.

There has been beautiful reaction in return as some of the newbies have responded! In some cases, either with a hearty "thank you" and in other cases, by testing out the give button in their wallet in a response.

Our unMEAN sTWEETs for this week bent the rules a bit; so some of the comments you will see today, didn't stick to the '140 words rule' but qualified as they have fulfilled the other parameters; of being unMEAN, beautiful, stand-alone, weighty; as well as teach.

In the past few days, we also visited the GED writers (#gedwriting), to spread the love in new nooks and crannies of steemit; to teach them the art of receiving and to celebrate them. Too, to celebrate and honor @giantbear, who is showing her passion, towards fixing humanity by growing the next generation of kids, into the best version of themselves.

"In every case, the best version of yourself, is a gift to humanity". @surpassinggoogle

NB: @giantbear is a teacher who has brought a congregation of kids to steemit. Many of her kids are her students as she spurs on to finding themselves through creativity. Do well to visit #gedwriting to see the great work of @giantbear

10 unMEAN sTWEETs for this week!

Here are the unMEAN sTWEETs that happened in the past days. In relation, to the recent shaky events on steemit, we needed to celebrate these comments, thus, their authors as their solid conviction about the beauty of steemit as conveyed in their tone, countenance, voice, feelings (comments); showed the true state of the amazing steemit community and shed light into where it is headed.

unMEAN sTWEETs are rawer, truer, impromptuer, humaner sentiments; a state of heart as it happens back and forth, it is incited and not too pre-empted! They are also as creative as can be, as they are allowed to be shorter than full blown posts.

"There is human everywhere on steemit"! In a platform that is modeled to enhance anonymity; this is the most beautiful irony ever and a luxury on the internet.

Like i always say, even the bots on steemit, grew heart. "@cheetah turned a new leaf!"

Here we go: 10 unMEAN sTWEETs for this week!

1.

Some people have described steemit as an awesome addiction and i have noticed, that many who took a break, came back to take a peek again. There must be something that brings you back!

This is food for your thoughts:

In the words of tfeldman:

I think we all need to take a step back and say "why am I on here?" It does not feel good to get downvoted and lose money...yes of course....it has happened to me. I was the top trending post at one point and was dropped down by about 60 bucks. That is not why I am here.Money gives us an extra incentive to not only live more comfortably but also gratification of doing something good for a community.Facebook achieves this with likes (and they pocket all your monetary value). We see plenty of posts about how much greater this is than facebook but as soon as the money is cut, are people really more satisfied being here than Facebook? People spend all day on there to receive a thumbs up! Here the money adds some juicy icing on the cake...whether its 5 bucks or 100.... but it's still superficial. I'm looking for real people..real connections...real life...many of which i have found on this site for sure!Money is not my incentive but it is good to have. If you plan to quit because of the "experiment," then is it because of the percent money you lost like many have? Is the money what is keeping you here, and if so, what message are you sending to your supporters with that?I respect your animosity towards this unchecked aggression, but I also feel some cheapness in your response to it.I agree that the "experiment" can leave a nasty taste in the mouth, but does that destroy Steem and this community? I don't think the majority of my followers would budge because of this little chaotic shindig.I invite you to stay and to contemplate your reasons for wanting the Steem community in your life.I think your intent is good, and you clearly write some sound posts... but I think your response to the aggression shines light into the imperfections of humanity.....
@tfeldman: Thank you for the response. You are correct, I haven't hit hard times like that and I'm sorry that is the position you are in. However, I also believe people in your position also go on Facebook whether they should or not for their situation because they enjoy it.....not for the money obviously. That is my hope for steem at least. And if the vision is beyond money that is where the value will rise because of perceived value is greater. The pot of steem will feel longer to boil if you are staring at it,waiting for the steem to rise. If you plan the ingredients of the meal, the steem rises pretty easily and with a perceived less time.

2.

Talking of bot upvotes, real interaction, real views, real engagement etc this is one of the best ideas, i found in the comments, in the past week:

In the words of @jamesbrown:

A very good engagement and bot control idea; Is it possible to have the chance to up-vote posts a second time, but only once one has scrolled down through a post after opening it? If so, we can make it so that a single vote will distribute STEEM from the rewards pool (no matter from which upvote button the vote came from), but a second vote will determine post ranking within the second type of trending page (the "double votes", presumably quality posts). Single votes, such as the types that come from bots, will still earn their curation rewards, but second votes would presumably only come from satisfied readers, who took the time to click on the post, read it and then scrolled to the bottom, to cast a second vote. Only the first of the votes would count on the block-chain, but the second vote would determine the second type of ranking on the Steemit front-end.

3.

What is your story? How did you find yourself on steemit? Where you actually looking for something, when you found steemit?

In the words of @alyssas:

Maybe I'm a minority, but I gave up Facebook and twitter and reddit precisely because I was tired and exhausted with all the trolling and memes. Steemit seemed like an old-school 1990's site where you could read interesting substantive articles on stuff that the press complety ignore (because they too have gone down the click-baity report-the-latest-troll-fight-on-twitter route). I liked reading about Heidi's travels, and about gardening and seeing flower pictures and so on. It was like a little oasis on the web.

Kudos to @heiditravels for her impact on at least someone!

4.

How does Ned Scott cope; manage to cope in the face of shakiness and if he has managed to cope, doesn't it tell of a man that can continue to put steemit up there?

In the words of @surpassinggoogle:

From meme-ing to judging it, to now and all this. You are young, yet really strong. I doubt if you know how much you have within you but it is bare. Your judgement thus, is considered weight. One name "dean" contains "ned" and "dan", if you intermix according to @deanliu but when i come to think of it, i ended up writing a post that resounds my ever unanswered question, "Hahaha, I Wish I Knew @dan More. "Overall, It Is Apparent That I Knew More Of @ned". How Come?

5.

Community may just be as equally as essential as the technology and i think at Ned understands this!

In the words of @ned:

The comment pool makes discussion and comment rewards more simple to achieve. It is proposed to lower the barrier to entry for a new user's a-ha(!) moment and to stir discussion.

6.

@ned has a vision within his dream:

In the words of @ned

7.

@ned pays attention to the state steemit community and he sees when it is stressed. To top it all, he cares!

In the words of @ned:

We are actively working on solutions to politics that are stressing out users. One of my first posts was about Flags. Going votes for flags is one way to deal with it, but I would prefer to take care of problems at the root. Ive always appreciated your posts and contributions. I hope you'll stay close

8.

@sneak (Jeffrey Paul); a steemit top developer is working hard. He is confident!

All in the words of @sneak:

As you may imagine, we've been somewhat busy bumblebees (did anyone notice we released 0.17.0 today, heh) and today's events have only added to that, so I ask kindly for patience in hammering out this license clarification. We've made it this far with the current license that Dan chose back when he started the project, so I imagine we can continue to focus on engineering and audience growth for at least a little while longer before this is at the top of the stack.

9.

"Be the best Steemian" @dana-edwards vs "be the best version of your steemian" @surpassinggoogle

In the words of @dana-edwards:

Dan leaving represents a loss of human capital. The value of Steemit in terms of wealth is measured only in human capital. The price of Steem tokens does not give you the value of Steemit. When someone leaves the community then true value is lost while if the token price goes down speculative value is lost but only temporarily.People have to realize that the source code and blockchain are worthless without the people and community. Be the best steemian

10.

Regardless; "don't abandon your steemship; You are co-captain!"

In the words of @revostrike:

All i'm saying is that this "experiment" isn't (or shouldn't) be enough reason to abandon ship.I agree that this experiment it's not a reason to abandon the ship; quite the contrary. I've been receiving Curie's support which has helped me a lot in my daily life too, but now due to the low rewards I feel compelled to do more, not the otherwise. I can't just keep doing 1-2 posts per week, a few comments and nothing more. Now I have to be more involved with the community, do more networking, create more content, curate proactively, etc... seek for legit ways to get the most out of this platform so I can keep the stream of rewards going. If I quit I lose, as simple as that.

Un-circumventable Bonus unMEAN sTWEETs:

1. @shadowspub:

Steemit needs all its parts, investors, content creators, curators and commenters to make it work.

2.  @hilarski:

I am not worried one bit, my Steem are a future gamble on the team figuring it out. If they don't so be it but if it does holy crap.

3.  @frankbacon:

You would think people would just be happy not having to deal with the Corpses (corporations and Zuckerberg) on Facebook... oh wait! Some of US ARE! SteemIt IS THE Experiment. All the rest of the shenanigans are just shenanigans. I'm not worried either @hilarski, this will be easier to figure out than a new Facebook. I'm here for the long haul too.
Regards!

4.  @justtryme90:

Don't quit, just take a break. Things have been really toxic around here for a while, and it might be in all of our best interests to take a step back. I am not going to look for steemit alternatives, I am going to continue to try to do what I can to make steemit better. There is a lot to like about this platform, and also a lot which needs improved. However that will never happen if people just jump ship during a moment of hardship.

5.  @surfermarly:

Not looking only at money aspects we can actually build a platform where the content can be recognised and hold lots of content creatorsYes @mindfreak. I couldn´t agree more. We´ve built value. And that has been the purpose. So there is no need to quit @lily-da-vine. Life is not linear, and challenges are part of it. It´s consistency that counts in the long run. Don´t leave! I´m following you now for future posts :)

Finally, do you remember Christina Aguilera, the petty blonde music princess? Okay, so do you remember;

"Say something, i am giving up on you"?

@jaki01 : "I have said something; for i am not giving up on you"

@jaki01:

I want you to stay!I hope you will stay ... and to improve your earnings I upvoted this article 100 %.
Sometimes one must be patient and hope that situation will improve again in future. However how can it improve if many good writers like you would quit now?
I would miss your good articles!

As cited at the onset, unMEAN sTWEETs also visited different nooks and crannies of steemit and especially, to spread love to a couple of newbies. And last week, we also visited some of the GED writers.

#gedwriting is a place on steemit to visit. It holds a haven! Too, watch kids growing before our eyes, into the best version of themselves is special.

"If you need directions to get to #gedwriting, leave me a comment!"

Great GED writers among others:

1. @purplerain talked of how steemit changed her life. She is also a GED writer and pretty new on steemit:

https://steemit.com/gedwriting/@purplerain96/how-steemit-changed-my-life

2. @stefan.steynberg also a GED writer and an aspiring DJ and Music Producer, plus he has a story!

5. There is also @awriter who lost her password and has had to move her account over to @aliyalaher

https://steemit.com/steem/@tamim/what-should-i-do-help-this-platform

Extracurricular Celebration!

Recently, i found a whale that heartily swims with minnows. This is special! He still has an open-ended unanswered questions. Please consider going to see if you can render your answers. It is evident in the simplicity of his tone, how much he wants to see steemit and its community excel:

@tamim:

What should I do help this platform?

Conclusion

1. @aksinya: In her game, you simply have to comment a title for her painting or slogans to describe it, so win steem gifts!

Your boy Terry

@surpassinggoogle

Sort:

Interesting type of post here. I find this to be pretty valuable.

thank you alot, there is also the giving and receiving aspect of the steem technology and giving and receiving in general, that we try to teach as well, that we try to teach true out the week by giving steem gifts. i left the story behind the initiative, in a link at the beginning of the post. i am so glad for the encouragement. so so glad. thank you!

What a wonderful day to start my Monday! I just woke up and as usual the first thing I do in the morning is log on to Steemit. What is usually a blue Monday for me now started out great! Thank you for spreading the word and thank you for being positive. Keep up the good work and Keep on Steeming!
@surpassinggoogle

The finger has real power gosh. it felt like you coming out of my screen with factual convinced reminder plus i laughed. can i be using it too for my comments? it can really fix.
i am glad impacted your day! usually a blue monday, is it cos of it being the first day of work and the stress part? Hope your day is awesome!

Ha ha yes. Blue Mondays as everything usually goes wrong on a Monday. Yip you can use my finger 😂

thank you alot. Tuesday is near! i already used your finger before you came back. i couldn't resist it

Nice, you give new prepective for me. !

yes, please learn. that is the total essence, to learn and grow, so whatever perspective or new idea you find, give it your twist and use it to grow.

Thank you so much for supporting my challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes, aksinya, i am definitely going to participate more. it is still on my mind but no space yet cos i wish you had a picture of my day to day life here. what you are doing is a big deal. i had a website based on that in the past but it died down cos i no longer renewed webhosting but it involved what you are doing and i called it "pictures that heal" but the concept involved "storifying the pictures with words" because some pictures truly need words to bring out fully to life and especially because people have different interpretation and it is never-ending. i finally became ceo and this is something i have always wanted to become and this is what i have been working on with all my initiatives like unmean stweets etc. the overall aim is a company and even in the tiniest way i have started this company courtesy of steem blockchain and the features it has. i think i am already one small ceo but it is a start. i will write a post about it. i am thinking of calling it either "hooray", "hurray" or "the giving factory. I will ask the advise especially from people who support my recent posts like hall of fame and unmean stweets. this illusion of owning a company feels so good but i know it is not an illusion, it is just not fully blown yet. i will also invite you and others to discord too, cos deep down i want true connection, brothers and sisters, who we can call ours everytime, a true team and with that every idea on earth works. i will start gradually. i would usually say in my quote, "if i had one cause and 2k followers, i will rally them and we will go push and displace mount Everest by 2km at 2miles/per hour. i am hopeful that gradually, we will have a true team filled with love and assuming we have 100 people in our beautiful team, then any idea we come out with will be celebrated like it is our own. i will be inviting you a discord channel soonest

Very very interesting! I wish you good luck and my full support is with you! )))

Awww, when someone heartily and reassuringly reminds you, they have your back! "Guys, is this how it should be?"
Time to get to work!

Good! Get to work!)))

yes, aksinya, i am definitely going to participate more. it is still on my mind but no space yet cos i wish you had a picture of my day to day life here. what you are doing is a big deal. i had a website based on that in the past but it died down cos i no longer renewed webhosting but it involved what you are doing and i called it "pictures that heal" but the concept involved "storifying the pictures with words" because some pictures truly need words to bring out fully to life and especially because people have different interpretation and it is never-ending. i finally became ceo and this is something i have always wanted to become and this is what i have been working on with all my initiatives like unmean stweets etc. the overall aim is a company and even in the tiniest way i have started this company courtesy of steem blockchain and the features it has. i think i am already one small ceo but it is a start. i will write a post about it. i am thinking of calling it either "hooray", "hurray" or "the giving factory. Thank you for your give. Nice !

hahaha, thank you for your receive! Nice!

Wow thank you for featuring. I will have to read more when I get back from work. Thanks.

Yes, thank you alot. I will be glad. Enjoy work!

Thank you so much for having me again, Terry!!!
I thought I had a déjà vu when I woke up today´s morning and found another transfer from your account in my wallet :)
What a steemit hero!

hahaha, you are welcome!

Thank you for the feature. Very good post and it must have taken a lot of time. Respect.

Yes, it take some hours for the actual post but the process took close to a week!

Cool :D thank you for the feature @surpassinggoogle. I agree with @dwinblood, this post has a great value for our community and I really appreciate it. Keep the good work!

awww, thank you a lot. it really inspires. i have alot of pictures in my head about where this thing is going and i hope it goes there. For me, with this small things, i have already started a company and if you only knew how big this beautiful reaction is from you here, you will value a comment even more. like for some, it fixes them and gives them the piece of the puzzle the use decades looking for and especially for people in developing countries etc where info is scare. I am working on a post. i am still deciding on the name for it but i wil let the community decide. it will have to be in the line of "hooray". "hurray or the giving factory"
