eSteem App - Hidden feature to gain SBD and SP
Not yet using the eSteem app? It is time to download it as there is a hidden feature that I discovered after using the app!!
eSteem App
The eSteem App, formerly know as Steem Mobile is a mobile application developed @good-karma and first released in August 2016 is a great tool that accompanies the Steemit platform. The app has been consistently updated to meet the current Steemit requirements. The app now comes in three flavors, namely, Android, Apple and Desktop. All images are my own snapshots.
Below are some of the best features the App is currently offering.
- Latest feature to be added is the long awaited bookmark feature which @good-karma has just written a post about eSteem - Feature Set #16 (Favorite posts, Template posts)
- It supports many languages including Arabic, Persian and Hebrew languages with right to left UI support
- Viewing your feed
- Writing posts directly using the App
- Viewing comments and replies with the ability to write comments
- It has a night mode
- You can view your wallet and claim rewards.

New banner feature on Steemit already implemented in the app showing that the app is under constant development which is proving the desire behind the eSteem team to improve our Steemit experience.

You can view a reply on your post and comment on it. The comment section is powerful as it gives you the ability to add lists, images and text formatting like in the 'Submit a Story' section.
Receiving free SBD and SP
I have been using the app mostly when I am outdoors so that I can keep in touch with my friends on Steemit and to reply as quickly to comments to create a good conversation. Let's face it, when we delay in replying or commenting, the momentum is lost gradually. So replying as soon as possible to a comment gives the conversation more life.
With this concept of quick reply in mind, I started commenting using the App and soon after, I could see that one Steemian keep upvoting my comments and it was the @esteemapp account. So every time I am commenting, I will be getting at least 0.01 SBD.
Then I started noticing something strange. Constantly on my comments, 11 people were upvoting. I checked the votes list to see who they were and from one comment difficult to make out. I could notice that @good-karma has upvoted my comment and added to the comment payout.
After checking a second comment, I checked who upvoted and it was the same 11 accounts. Then I understood that there was a trail which is following @good-karma and upvoting after him. This has constantly added around 0.4 SBD to my comment.
The connection became clearer after checking my account on Steemdb. You can also check my account there and see that this has been happening since Monday (21/08/2017), the day I installed the eSTEEM app and has been using it for commenting.
In this way, I am receiving SBD reward and SP for all comments I am posting using the eSTEEM mobile app. I am quicker with writing on my laptop as compared to mobile. I have not tried using the app yet for writing full posts.
You can also do it. The app is available on both Android and Apple markets. It does not cost anything and in return you get free upvotes constantly.
This feature might be present there also and for minnows, it means 11 upvotes in advance and 0.4 SBD guaranteed on the post payout. Anyone who has done it or is going to do it after reading this post, do let me know in the comments below so that every other Steemian can see it and start using the eSteem app themselves.
I don't know whether it is for a limited time only so better hurry and start getting SBD and SP rewards.As stated by @good-karma, "As a trial run for next 30 days, 1% of the reward is shared with esteemapp and used for further development of the project". This was said 4 months earlier and the feature is still present so better hurry and enjoy!

One of the other cool things is the slider on esteem is alot better. You can hold some steem back if you want while still up voting. I enjoy the freedom that a mobile platform brings. Between esteem and dtube sky the limit. 🚀

Hey @pisolutionsmru! Great article! I had the app installed two months ago, when I first joined, but it didn't seem to work as well as the browser page. Maybe they've updated it for the better. I'll give it a second try.

Have been using it all time for commenting and viewing other people's posts. The experience has been awesome so far.
Only thing missing is the internal market for transferring between Steem and SBD.
How about security? Is it safe to login on the app or is it easier to get your password stolen?
The password is stored on your phone when using the app. If you clear the app data, it will go away :)

Someone told me last month that @esteemapp collects 5% of my earnings which was not true. That made me wonder why. It's a simple logic, they get more of out earnings because of their steem power and being the first to upvote our post. I believe that's almost the same way other bots warn from our post too. Its a win win thing.
