This post is a continuation of a series started by @weetreebonsai and continued by @daddykirbs and @papa-pepper. It is geared towards those arriving on Steemit from YouTube, but will contain valuable information for other new steemians as well.

I often get asked how I got so many followers on Steemit? Some just chalk it up to having a large audience already on social media and to be honest, that helps and partly the reason! However, you have the same potential of anyone. Everyone today is on social media and you have your own audience no matter how large or small?

Never underestimate the power of your own voice. Become a steem-vangelist and tell the world of your new found digs and earning potential here on this platform. You have friends on facebook probably because people enjoy your company and place a value on your input on that platform. So, why not use that to share with them another platform?

What is your social media audience?

Whether your audience is large like this...
Or maybe smaller like this...

...you can become a Steem-Vangelist!

5 Tips To Become A Steem-Vangelist:

  1. Communicate. You must learn to speak and communicate to different audiences. Your followers on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter all have varied and different interest. So branch out to different interests as well. Steemit has categories that should fit anyone's interest. From photography to travel and recipes to gardening. Simply telling your audience about these areas of interest could be enough to have them check it out and become your follower on Steemit.

  2. Convey the value of Steemit. Most people on Youtube are not being paid anything for their efforts of sharing experiences and information. These pieces of information are valuable to the right people and they could be getting paid for sharing it. People on Facebook post all day long and never make a dime. Why when they could be posting and sharing and earning money. While you probably won't get rich posting on Steemit, you very well at the end of a year have enough SBD to take someone special out for a dinner and pay for it with earnings you made with your posts. Your job as a Steem-vangelist is to share the value of Steemit with your friends and social media audience.

  3. Cutting Edge. Like it or not, crypto is here to stay and its going to be growing exponentially over the year. By starting now to share this information with your social media audience and friends, they will clearly see you as an innovator and someone who stays on the cutting edge of technological advances. Who wouldn't want to follow someone like that over to Steemit?

  4. Sharing is caring! A good Steem-vangelist shares great content he finds on other social media platforms. By constantly sharing great Steemit posts with your friends on Facebook or Youtube, you are driving traffic to the site and urging involvement. Even better yet would be to share your own content that you can interest your potential followers.

  5. Be Optimistic. New platforms always have bugs and growing pains and we have seen our fair share at Steemit but these are normal and are being worked out. Keep conveying the information and value of the community coming together to share valuable blog posts as the platform continues to grow. People love an optimist and are more likely to follow you over to Steemit if you are continually shouting the praises of the platform.

What is the bottom line?

You have a great channel on Youtube and an impressive friends list on Facebook. How did you get there? You had to work your butt off. The same goes for Steemit. Provide good content and a positive view of this new platform to your audience and you will be successful here too and get a lot of fulfillment out of the experience as well.

Sharing across the board! You carry the baton well!

I will make a wallet video here shortly, it may be after I get back from my trip.

Awesome, it gives us all something to look forward to!

Thanks for picking up the torch and carrying from @papa-pepper. I really enjoy these posts. Eventually I will take the plunge and start making videos...

That would be great!

Thank you @mericanhomestead for your continuation of this very cool collaboration. You make some great points here.

I have another one planned. Thanks for passing it on!

If it doesn't start out correctly it will eventually be fixed. If not it will be superseded and left behind for the next great fix.

Beep! Beep! This humvee will be patrolling by and assisting new veterans, retirees, and military members here on Steem. @shadow3scalpel will help by upvoting posts from a list of members maintained by @chairborne and responding to any questions replied to this comment.

Thank you. This series has been very helpful. Growing a following here takes time to get traction, from what I can see. Those 5 tips are spot on, Communication is important in everything in life. Conveying the value of the platform is a great point. Many advantages here over yt, freedom from censorship, decentralization , just to name the two most obvious. As far as the viability of crypto, sharing content, and staying optimistic, those are all good points and one I need to focus more on. In the staying optimistic category , may I add persistency? Sticking with this and not giving up during the long process of building a following/community is difficult at times, but in my opinion, necessary for success. Thanks for the tips and encouragement.

It looks like I will be spending some time here on your channel (Is that proper steemit lingo?). All of this steemit stuff is new to me! I hope to get the hang of it soon.
Shalom!

Excellent series with really good advice. It doesn't matter what you want to accomplish in life, to be successful you need to work you butt off. It is not handed to you on a silver platter.

Excellent , very useful , thank you !
