How Do You Make REAL Money On Steemit?
A lot of people are wondering just exactly how do you make real money on Steemit? Before I begin I must point out that I am but a small fish in Steemit’s mighty ocean, but have greatly enjoyed my journey from Plankton to Minnow over the past few months. I will happily share with you now much that I have learned!
First Things First!
Now, of course you must first choose a reasonable, hopefully interesting screen-name. A good icon or avatar is next, and an artistic, well chosen background for your blog works wonders for your image!
Now, you have the basics in place … time to post and network! Always put maximum effort into your posts! If you don’t, your readers are unlikely to reward you much, if at all!
Commenting
A surprising amount of income and new followers can be garnered by upvoting and commenting on other peoples posts. Useful and interesting comments can definitely earn you good amounts of followers and SBD!
Curating
Just finding quality content before others and upvoting and resteeming what might become the next smash hit on the trending page. Or simply posts with a good message you feel is important to the community. Resteeming is a fantastic - a free way of increasing your earnings on any post you upvote while being immensely useful for the original poster who benefits from the added exposure to your friends and followers - win win!
Vote Bots
Vote bots cause much discussion as to whether or not they are good for Steemit ecosystem? (Please comment below your own feeling on this matter). The mathematics of the subject is complex but I feel if @dan or @ned thought it bad for Steemit, it would have been removed by them with ease some time ago. I do use vote bots when I want to give a post an extra push! Although they are not all necessarily profitable, the increased payout size and number of votes in itself can increase the number viewers and upvoters for your post.
Promotion
There is a promotion feature built into Steemit… have you noticed that button next to reply/edit on your posts that says “Promote”? Click that and enter an amount. The proceeds are “burnt” by Steemit, metaphorically, which is good for all financially speaking, potentially, unlike the vote bots which might be making profit at the expense of the reward pool! I have used the Promote button, but have yet to see any significant gains with this method - but I will keep experimenting with it. Again please, do comment below your experiences and thoughts.
Buying Steem from the markets or exchange is a great way of increasing your influence and earnings. Using the indispensable tool steemnow made by the brilliant @penguinpablo which is great for keeping up with incoming votes and seeing curation and author rewards flowing in. It also has a Steem power calculator at the top left of the page, click on the calculator icon and you can enter numbers and see just how much your vote would be worth with any amount of steem! The Most Important Things
Ultimately though, what REALLY makes you the most on Steemit is excellent content and community spirit. If you mean well, and do all you can to help others and explore your creativity deeply - you will do very well on Steemit and have taken the first step, to one day possibly becoming a whale yourself!
