Do you know who is Julian Assange? The famous Australian Computer Programmer who is also the Founder and Editor of Wikileaks. He provides confidential information about governments and big corporations of the world. He is labelled as a criminal. While Facebook Inc., sells your private information and leverages it to make shit loads of money, and Mark Zuckerberg is tagged as the Man of the Year.

That's unfair, isn't it? But that's how the world works. You are getting consumed by the tools that are destroying the real social values.

Facebook is using us, our private information everyday, every second and multiplying their profits. Although the main focus of using social media was to connect and contribute in each others' life, we now rather get into the sea of jealously and hatred. You don't even remember how much personal information has been gathered in your profile and messenger over several years. That is being sold and leaked without your consent or awareness. Obviously nobody reads that huge ass terms and conditions para which they keep on updating with all the bull crap they think.

WHY #deletefacebook IS TRENDING ON TWITTER?

Two Famous Newspapers - The New York Times and The Guardian disclosed how much a London-based data mining & analytics firm called Cambridge Analytica stole the Facebook's users' data from more than 50 million accounts. That's a lot? Right!

Cambridge Analytica(CA) played a key role in Presidential elections of United States of America held in 2016 where Donald Trump won. This is just the start of controversy. It was later found out that this firm was involved with the trump's digital campaign. How CA got into the possession of such sensitive data from Facebook Users is an interesting story which involves a a psychology professor at the University of Cambridge called Aleksandr Kogan. He made an app on Facebook which collected the users data and shared it outside which in turn got into the hands of CA executives. This is against the Facebook Policy and TOS. Even the Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, admitted to the mistakes which were made that led to this information breach. Sensitive information that we share daily on the social media website is available public. Thousands of tools are made which can access Facebook API and extract serious information of any user's personal data.

He joined the party with this tweet as #deletefacebook tag on twitter was already trending due to the CA controversy. People were furious to know that their personal information got into the hands of Political Campaigners without their own consent. Since then, the company has faced criticism on several grounds from all over the world. I think we should take this opportunity to promote the tag #JoinSteemit with it. ;)

MARK ZUCKERBERG's REGRETS!

Due to the uproar all over the world, FB stock fell down by 8.5% as we speak and it does not have much to offer in 2018. Investors are backing out and we know recently Jim Carrey, the famous Hollywood actor dumped his Facebook Shares for good. Great timing Jim ;)

He took the full responsibility on what happened and diplomatically blamed everyone who was involved in leaking the data. It is now clear that there was a fault in Facebook's Security which allowed the suspects to make their move and collect all the sensitive information. Imagine several thousands of people who already took advantage at that stage when Facebook Security was vulnerable.

THE STARTING OF THE END OF THE SOCIAL MEDIA GIANT

A lot would agree with me when I say time of Facebook's popularity is limited. Thanks to the recent technlogical developments made over the past few years, now we have ample amount of scope to explore various other platforms such as @steemit. There are n number of D-Apps like @dtube, @dlive, @steepshot, @dmania etc. are now emerging to make waves in this new era. This will change the face of social media. Facebook Inc. has lived like a king for the past 15 years and now many users have realized the limitations and adverse effect of using their product. Instead of connecting people, it is actually affecting our lives in a negative way. Chamath Palihapitiya, who is the former vice-president of user growth in Facebook Inc, expressed regret for his part in building tools that destroy ‘the social fabric of how society works.’ He spoke about how we need to realize that we need to push that hard brake from some of these tools that we rely on. TIME TO JUMP ON THE REAL PARTY - STEEMIT

In this section, I will compare Steemit and Facebook. I will tell you why Steemit is 1000 times better than the other social media crap which we feed everyday on constant basis.

On Facebook, you do not get to choose what is shown to you, you can only censor a few things but not everything. Facebook will feed you the ads by which they earn money. On Steemit, you would rather earn money by actually interacting with the stuff you admire.
Even though they tell you that you have all the control over your profile and the data you share, the leaks happened. You share your data with thousands of third party apps through Facebook Campaigns. Here on steemit, you control what is to be shown to the public or to you. It's decentralized nature allows you to control on what kind of information you want to flow. Everything is transparent, you can even contribute to the blockchain by becoming a witness.
Due to the huge number of users, Facebook can't control spamming. Many of its components like messenger and facebook groups are know for constant spamming by various users intentionally or unintentionally. Steemit solves this problem. Great content with high quality is getting promoted to the top. Spam goes to shit. Top Steemit users like @themarkymark, @therealwolf, @ilyastarar, @lukestokes, @sethlinson, @anyx, @acidyo etc. condemn spam to the highest level. Community is strict towards unworthy content and comments. Thanks to these people, trolls are lesser in number and their days are numbered.
You don't get rewarded for shit posts on Steemit and thousands of likes you get on your selfie. The real content with real value works. If you see facebook, click-bait pictures and videos have taken over it. Steemit is the social network of people rather than a money making machine for the organization. Every content creator is an investor and they are rewarded for their efforts equally and sufficiently.
No censorship and free speech on Steemit makes it one of the greatest. Facebook is controlled by the governments and the corporations who are killing the vibe with their restrictions and bullying over the freedom of speech.
Get paid for not just creating content but by supporting or curating it as well. On facebook, you don't get a freaking dime when you like your favorite model's post or that random meme. Here you get money in terms of cryptocurrency called Steem. So why not!
Unlike Facebook, the user-base of Steemit is more intelligent and creative. And thanks to its designs users from many parts of the world, now can actually support themselves by spending time on the blockchain rather than competing with senseless and widely accepted content creators who feed you bullcrap.

FINAL VERDICT

Will Facebook still be around in a couple years? Yes.
Will Steemit replace Facebook in a couple years? It might.
Will I delete my facebook account? Not yet, but I will start removing my personal details slowly and gradually.
Should you delete your Facebook and Join Steemit? Enjoy both but be careful on Facebook. Someday you will delete your account. ;)
Is this a hate post against Facebook? Hell Yes! I now personally hate Facebook.
