Judging a contest, guest on a radio show, 'barc'-ing, oh my! What am I talking about? Didn’t I say I was slowing down my Steemit user experience?

Well, YES, I most certainly did, (see that post here) but guess what happened? I cut down my time on Steemit by more than 50% and now I am involved in more things than I was before! 😮 How did that even happen? Does that make sense? I think I entered a Steemit vortex because I’m looking at my watch and I don’t know how this is adding up! I’m not going to complain because less time but more fun = the best thing ever! (Maybe I'm finally getting the hang of this after all!) 💜

Let’s take a look at this week for me on Steemit shall we? There's a lot going on!

For starters, if you have not heard of the SteemitCulinaryChallenge yet- boy, oh boy, do I have something fun for you foodies to get in on! Until Steemit, I had only shared my recipes with close friends and family but all that has changed since this competition has become one of my favorite things on this platform we all love!

Usually I am an eager contestant, I have only had the opportunity to enter 2 competitions so far as I just recently stumbled upon this fun-in-the-kitchen party! The first, an icecream challenge, I won 3rd prize for my last minute surprise choco-banana-mocha-peanut-butter cup entry here and the second which was last week for healthy food that kids would like, I received one of the most creative awards for my healthy chocolate covered strawberry shortcake bites! (I LOVE treats!)

This response to my creations is overwhelming and out-of-this-world encouraging! I love sharing my recipes and inspiring people to make food with less processed ingredients and more plant-based, natural, organic foods and of course, my favorite additive- LOVE! It makes me fly to the moon with happiness when people like them and tell me they are going to make them!

I have met some amazing chefs and kitchen champions over there and have had the best time engaging with the food community.

I was beyond thrilled to be asked by @woman-onthe-wing to judge the competition this week!

Wahoo! If that isn’t the most fun thing in the Steemit world… I also have some more exciting news up my sleeve.

Just yesterday, I had my first audio interview with @Ma1nnevent from @mspwaves! Of course it being me we had some technical issues getting going but we had a lot of fun talking about Steemit and my personal story about why I’m here and what I’m planning to use this community for! I am usually terrified of live interactions like this but @ma1nnevent made it really fun, casual and comfortable. Take a look at it here! This is a really cool project he’s starting showcasing new Steemit users! I know I am going to be following it!

Meanwhile, I see we’ve come to Day 7 of my Doggy Donation post which means the payout for it is just around the corner. Currently, as I write this, there are 8 hours left before payout and it’s sitting at just over $16 before adjusted for curation. I was hoping it would get a little bit of a lift before the time runs out but I just found out it can't at the 12 hour mark so not only will I be donating that full amount as promised to Barc for Bali dogs, the dog shelter and rehabilitation clinic here in Bali, Indonesia, I'll also include anything coming from this post as well!

I visited Barc this week to speak to the owner, she’s overwhelmed constantly with an insane influx of new animals to try to feed, clean, immunize, socialize and rehome… I have incredible respect for what she and her team manage to do there which is why I’ve taken 2 of their puppies home and am fostering them, with another on the way I hope! I am just nursing my newest angel back to health before I can bring another here without risk of contamination of the virus little Nala has right now.

Oh ya, so remember how I told you Bear got sick a couple of weeks ago? Badly, scarily ill? Well, Nala caught the same virus… speaking to the vet at Barc, it’s more common for the puppies to get sick than for them to avoid the virus since it is so widespread here! It’s torturous for me to see and hear! This is why what Barc is doing is SO SO important to the animal life on the island. We really want to do what we can to try to stop this virus from spreading as rapidly as it is as it’s truly heartbreaking to see it overcome the animals.

Have no fear, Nala is being nursed back to health with the most love I can muster, she’s touched my heart in a yet another way I cannot hope to understand but she’s ultimate perfection. I can’t stand to think that she was once outcast on the streets… I’m happy to have her here now and will love her so hard the disease will disappear!

Back to Barc:

I told the founder I was trying to organize a bit of a donation for them and she’s offered to take me to their sanctuary to get more footage for you all because I will be doing this again! They are currently being kicked out of their “safe home” so all of the animals that are being sheltered there need a new property to move to! I donate what I can to this cause, and will continue to do so, while caring for their puppies and supporting them in any way I can. I hope that this cause touches your heart and that you’ll consider upvoting this post! Like I said, I will be donating the entire amount on both posts to help the shelter buy a new home for these furry friends, lost and sick with nowhere else to go.

So, looks like Steemit’s got a hold on me doesn't it?

For the record, even though I can’t enter the SCC contest this week obviously as I’m the judge, I made some of the most amazing desserts of my life thus far check out this scrumptious chocolate-strawberry-coconut cream pie and some vegan icecream cookies that I will absolutely get out to you soon, we’ve also still got to finish that wild tale of drugs and murder don’t we? I think it’s safe to say I have some Steeming to do! (during my newly designated hours only though it seems I'm a lot more efficient when I give myself limits- it was crazy to me how many other things I did today when staying on my routine and giving my eyes a much deserved break from my screen!) ;)
