Would making a curation bot be a good idea?
Hey Steemit community!
I wanted second opinions on a Steemit curation bot made for curating the introduceyourself feed, just a simple little thing that would:
- Read the introduceyourself feed
- Check a users blog for using the introduceyourself tag more than 3 times
- Check if the user is already in the database
- Send a comment to the most recent introduceyourself tagged post warning of misuse of tags (if not in the database)
- Add the user to a database for future reference.
For occurring spam
- If the user is already in the database, check for warnings.
- If warnings = X<
- Flag the user's spam

Evedently the account would need some weight to go with the vote as to dissuade spammers. So I would add some Steem power to the account, maybe through delegations from @minnowbooster or some similar service.
It could later be made more complex by maybe allowing users to “redeem” themselves. If the user changed the tags on current posts and requested that his work be re upvoted maybe:
User “redeems” themselves by removing the tags and creating a post titled “@thebotsname - sorry to the community”
bot2 runs a script using the database from bot1 reads the posts of the people in the database checking for the “sorry post”.
- If the sorry post is found the bot would leave a comment.
- Check if the old post (saved in DB) tags have been changed
- Check it is not the first “redemption”
- Un-flag the flagged posts
- Update the DB
- Move on
What do you guys think of my idea? We see curation bots all over the platform, many are directed at saying hello to newcomers, others just to commenting on random posts and upvoting in a quest for curation rewards. There are some “white knight” bots out there like @cheetah, @meanpeoplesuck and @steemcleaners (even though the little 💩
s downvoted my original content) who do a good job curating content. What do you think of a bot specifically for the introduceyourself tag feed?

domcrypto your idea could be a good one, not that I know much about bots and got quite annoyed last week when I didn't understand them better. If it helps newcomers, and helps them to work with Steemit properly then it's a good idea and anything that helps them and gives them encouragement. I always welcome them and give encouragement if they come into my view. Ask more of an expert! Good luck with the idea anyway.

I like your thinking here - but maybe there's more to it than just hitting the intro post tags. Are you any good with SQL? :)
