10 Funny Portuguese phrases that make no sense what so ever in English! 😆

As I have mentioned before I was born in England and moved to Portugal when I was 11, one of the difficulties I encountered while learning a new language was the way people expressed themselves. Here are a few examples of Portuguese expressions that don't make any sense in English.
1- "Boa como o milho" (A very hot/sexy girl)
Translated directly it reads "As good as corn"!
2- "Muitos anos a virar frangos" (Very expreienced in the subject)
Translated directly it reads "Many years spent turning chickens"!
3- "Feito ao bife" (In trouble)
Translated directly it reads "Done to the steak"!
4- "Estou me a cagar para isso" (Couldn't care less)
Translated directly it reads "I'm shitting myself for that"!
5- "Tira o cavalinho da chuva" (Give up)
Translated directly it reads "Take your little horse out of the rain"!
6- "Cara Podre" (Shameless)
Translated directly it reads "Rotten face"!
7- "Foi com os porcos" (Died)
Translated directly it reads "Went with the pigs"!
8- "Barata tonta" (The English equivalent would be: Running around like a headless chicken)
Translated directly it reads "Dizzy cockroach"!
9- "A sombra da bananeira" (Relaxing)
Translated directly it reads "In the shade of the banana tree"!
10- "Cavalo dado não se olha o dente" (Don't be ungrateful)
Translated directly it reads "(when) Given a horse don't look at the teeth"!
