Here’s a look are the top level 1 commenters for 20170724. Some of them may be bots and some of them are not. This serves to inform and you make you own decision whether they are the good, the bad or the ugly. I can only comment once every 20 seconds. Correction: I am only allow to comment only once every 20 seconds. I type fast and sometimes get that message quite a bit and when I reply on my phone using voice typing, I get that message more. Anyway, 1,000 comments will need at least 333 minutes which is more than 5 and half hours. Hands up those of you who have spent more than 5 hours leaving comments at the first level.

I think this story of paid comments makes Steemit much more ... poor. I really do not like it very much and I see really ridiculous things ....

I'm still not sure how I feel about paid comments. On the one hand, it pushes us normal folk to write thought-provoking replies and to have good conversations. On the other, it lures in comment bots to come and ruin a good platform.
But there are people who are on this platform just to comment. As if it were an obligation !. I find it unbearable. After all, this is a form of spam ... and whoever makes dozens of comments per day, as far as I'm concerned, is just spam.
I guess some people are better at commenting than they are at writing their own posts. In that regard, comment rewards can be a good thing. It all depends on the sort of comments they write! There are people who write many, many comments, but they are all heartfelt and on topic.
The spammers though, they don't deserve rewards. I actually found one today and scrolled all the way down to his first spam comment to flag every single one that had an upvote.
Hah, number two bothered me aswell! Though I see the cute Asian bot got downvoted to oblivion since that. Well done community!

Great info. I looked at a few of the top commenters. It looks like they don't get much engagement (Obviously). They're new with small wallets. This makes me think lightning commenting is a bad strategy.
The purpose of Steemit is to learn, read, engage genuinely, and give as much as you get. I think when we lay a solid foundation the rest will follow.
It's not a get rich quick scheme. It's a get free from the system slow scene.
