Thanks for a good thought provoking comment. Something to explore this level 1 in more detail. :-)
I'm still not sure how I feel about paid comments. On the one hand, it pushes us normal folk to write thought-provoking replies and to have good conversations. On the other, it lures in comment bots to come and ruin a good platform.
But there are people who are on this platform just to comment. As if it were an obligation !. I find it unbearable. After all, this is a form of spam ... and whoever makes dozens of comments per day, as far as I'm concerned, is just spam.
I guess some people are better at commenting than they are at writing their own posts. In that regard, comment rewards can be a good thing. It all depends on the sort of comments they write! There are people who write many, many comments, but they are all heartfelt and on topic.
The spammers though, they don't deserve rewards. I actually found one today and scrolled all the way down to his first spam comment to flag every single one that had an upvote.
