Beyond Bitcoin Talk about SteemFest Dreamers!
I have reserved a spot for this weeks Beyond Bitcoin Meetup at 10 am this Friday. I will be giving a short talk about the SteemFest Dreamers Campaign and our efforts to pack SteemFest with as many SteemFest dreamers as possible with paid for tickets! Here is @officialfuzzy's post about the Beyond Bitcoin Meetup this Friday:
This Friday's hangout will feature some very cool Steemit Projects like SteemQ, the steemit video platform!
Sending more Steemians to SteemFest
This campaign supports Steemians that are interested in going to SteemFest, but can't quite afford the trip. That includes me. I have not yet saved enough for myself to schedule the trip but I am working on it. I still plan on covering SteemFest gonzo style! The first SteemFest Dreamers post paid out about half the value of the ticket in Steem and Steem Dollars. Even with what went to my Steem Power, the post would not have generated enough to buy the ticket. I am personally donating the rest of the amount to buy the ticket because the main goal for this project was to help at least one SteemFest Dreamer make it to SteemFest. My hopes are that this is just the beginning.
SteemFest is on the 11th, 12th, and 13th of Novermber 2016 in Amsterdam. That's about 7 weeks away. I am going to set a goal now to help send 50 Steemians to SteemFest.
I think we can make it happen if we can grow and add to the support for this campaign. It's a worthwhile project in my mind because it adds to SteemFest which adds to Steemit and the enjoyment that Steemians are getting out of it.
Here is the plan. With enough upvotes we can support dreamers by donating to them one or more of the following:
- A ticket to SteemFest
- A donation to cover the amount for lodging at VolksHotel
- A donation to help cover the cost of a plane ticket
- A donation to cover food and other travel expenses
Only if the campaign was very successful would it be possible to do all 4 for one dreamer and make it an all expense paid trip. This would be awesome! But realistically we can send at least several Dreamers a ticket or donation that is enough to add to their current efforts and push them over the finish line to reach their goal of going to SteemFest. I am close to meeting my goal myself, and I think there are many Steemians out there in the same boat.

The overwhelming support received on the last post involved many Steemians including @roelandp, @nonlinearone, @steempowerwhale, @mrwang, @officialfuzzy, and so many more. As a minnow on Steemit, 124 upvotes was a big deal to me. I see it as great support for this project so I have decided to continue the campaign by making several more posts before SteemFest to raise funds for SteemFest Dreamers and announce the new winners! Hopefully it will help me get to SteemFest too, because after all I'm just a SteemFest Dreamer myself.

I too wish to go to Steemfest. I am a full time volunteer and my resources are already devoted to building a healthier world for ALL, so I am open to creative solutions to get to Amsterdam. I want to share more yoga with this community!! Hope to see you there @richardcrill!

I am trying to raise enough funds to go also as all my time is already invested in running the organization with the lowest carbon footprint in the country and feeding 40,000 FREE meals a year. I don't even use air conditioning, heating or hot water. I haven't went to a restaurant in 12 years or paid for a movie or concert in 15 years.
I dedicated my life to helping others 15 years ago and have spent almost no money since. So now I have to raise funds so I can go!
I hope this is a great success and helps others to go also~

Thks @richardcrill for what you are doing to help steemians attend SteemFest. Congratulation. I'm also working to attend the event and I understand the challenge of many wanted to attend. If we can get people to host Steemians coming from far away, it can help. I'm having challenge getting some funds for lodging and event ticket. I hope to make it by then. Thks for your initiative.
