In my last post, I shared a draft suggestion for a new open source contributor reward program based on SP delegation. And this post is a continuation of the previous post.

Special thanks to everyone below for sharing great ideas and leaving comments. I was able to become more courageous.

There is still no consensus among Steemit Inc or the witnesses, but I believe we will all agree that we all need a #NewSteemDAO (a rebranded version of the old Utopian). Among the current Steem Witnesses and community members, some have experience as curators on Utopian, and some new members of the Steem community have great ideas. #NewSteemDAO needs the support and wisdom of more community members to go beyond just a suggestion.

A New Movement has already begun

@hungry-griffin and @rme announced A million dollar blockchain based web 3.0 social media, networking & blogging project will be launched by 2024 in the post Some future plans & proposal for steemit development.

Recently, the Korean and Bangla communities have started to lead the community grassroots movement, and Steemit Inc is also trying to expand the ecosystem through DIP.

The wisdom of the masses is needed more than ever

There is a lot of work to do such as creating a separate social media channel where all the Steemians can communicate regardless of country to collect ideas, to recruit curators who will provide architecture-related know-how based on their experience in Utopian, to build a official website for #NewSteemDAO operation.

First, let us know in the comments which social media you prefer for real-time communication (Telegram, Discord, etc.). We can start our grassroots movement by choosing the one social media that is available to the most people.

Second, we are looking for supporters who are interested in supporting NewSteemDAO's funds(such as liquid funds or SP delegations). @dev.supporters and @upvu.witness are currently working closely and will contact other witnesses individually.

Slow but Steady

Before asking Steemit Inc and the Tron Foundation to delegate SP from @misterdelegation, I think the right order is for the community to voluntarily build, set the details, and then reach a consensus.

We are still in the early stages of not getting started properly, but we believe that we can make #NewSteemDAO by slow but steady progress.

We will collect your opinions and create separate private channels (for supporters and core developers only) and public channels. Thanks for your support!

Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.

First, I'm interested in your idea of developing an Open Source Dapp like Utopian in the past.

Utopian has a long history on Steem empowering professional developers, writers, analysts or content creators. But unfortunately they failed to raise funds on Indiegogo, so the project was forced to close.

Again and again that in any project that we want to develop, we need something called Crow Funding. Because funds are an initial requirement in project development, in addition to human resources.

A New Steem Dao will also be a good start that might be done by starting to accumulate various strengths and resources that you have.

Maybe a collaboration with https://fundition.io/ would also look interesting.

Maybe they need to lower the fee for transactions or update the Crow Funding program through their platform.

I believe we will all agree that we all need a #NewSteemDAO

I think this would be a poor choice of name since it invites confusion with the proposal system / @steem.dao account.

There is a lot of work to do such as creating a separate social media channel where all the Steemians can communicate

Since steem/steemit is already a social media platform, wouldn't it make more sense to try to coordinate via the social media platform steemians are already using rather than setting up a different base of operations? Obviously it doesn't do real-time interactions but it's not really clear to me why that would be a priority.

Personally I have a discord account but I usually don't check it, I don't like the "chat" style of interactions, I find it stressful.
