Steem Basic Income
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

We have ten pools, so your upvotes could come from @steembasicincome, @sbi2, @sbi3, @sbi4, @sbi5, @sbi6, @sbi7, @sbi8, @sbi9 or @sbi10. The number of members that have posted within the last 28 days increased a little bit to 3661. There are also many more members that have not posted. Unfortunately, the members that are not posting are not receiving upvotes. As of today, there are 51120 subscription ‘units’ in the program, and it grows every day.
Over the last month there’s been a lot going on in my life and I have to admit I haven’t been posting regularly. I just started again this week and it pains me to realize how many SBI upvotes I have missed! Remember to get the most benefit from your shares you should try to post even when distractions are happening in your life - or the value of Steem is low.
Whatever you earn now will be worth so much more when the rebound happens. You’ll be glad you kept posting!
Delegation Bonus
Existing members can receive bonus units from delegation. For every 10 SP delegated to @steembasicincome, members will receive 1 bonus unit. These bonus units will be removed if the delegation is withdrawn. Currently each unit receives an average weekly voting value of 0.0058.
@sbi2, @sbi3, @sbi4, @sbi5, @sbi6, @sbi7, @sbi8, @sbi9 and @sbi10 are managed to target multiples (e.g. 200 shares ~ 400 SP, 500 shares ~1000 SP, etc.) For this reason we ask that members that are delegating for bonus units always delegate to pool 1 and we will manage the SP flow into the lower pools appropriately. If you want to fill SP orders through minnowbooster's market, you are of course welcome to fill the orders going to lower pools. Please do not combine filling orders for pool 1 (@steembasicincome) with delegating for bonus units.

Any Steemian that is already enrolled in @steembasicincome can delegate as much as they would like, to receive bonus units. If you are not already a member but would like to delegate, please send an enrollment transaction to @steembasicincome and we will add your bonus at the time we process your enrollment.

Enrollment
If you want to get involved, or to increase the level of basic income that you receive, enrollment is pretty straightforward:
Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 unit in the program. You can sponsor any active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.

We have been experiencing a lot of performance issues lately with the third-party services we use for upvote delivery. I do show you with 22 units in pool 2, which means your upvotes should be coming from @sbi2 now.

I used to get my votes from SBI because I signed up a while ago. Now my votes come from SBI2 or SBI3. Does that make a difference? I thought that the people in lower pools got slightly higher votes for getting in sooner.

It used to be slightly more in the higher pools, but we flattened it in anticipation of our full automation roll-out. After we move to the system, there will not even be static pool assignments, but dynamic voting account selection for each post.
The only benefit to being upvoted by the main pool is the reputation boost, since the lower pools don't post yet and have lower reputations.
I sure hope this bear market doesn't go away too fast, 'cause I'm buying STEEM at these prices. Who knows, maybe a few months from now I can start delegating to your project! :-)
Good perspective. Long term investors with the resources to survive a prolonged bear and keep building their positions will benefit a lot.
Reminds us of the last prolonged bear in bitcoin... when patient investors who kept gradually building their positions did really well in the subsequent run-up (as long as they didn't sell too early like SBI's founder @josephsavage did)!
@steembasicincome, I just sent your some STEEM for 8 shares, that should be heading to @steemflagrewards but made a bit of a mess with the memo. Can you please make sure they get allocated to this account, thanks
In the manual processing we will just ignore the 8, and it will be fine. The test system should do the same, but we will check to make sure.
