"Happy Holidays" The ultimate Christmas cookie. My Norwegian American Grandmothers recipe written in my Mother's hand in the 1950's... enjoy. Berliner Krauser.

old family recipes, how cool is that... thanks for sharing! Do you have picture of this cookie, how it looks when ready?!

No I don't, they suffer immediate extinction in my presence. Mom, 86, rolls them in the traditional "wreath" shape as shown in this source, about 2 to 3 inches across. Occasionally garnished with christmas fruit but I prefer them without. http://scandinavianfood.about.com/od/cookierecipes/r/Norwegian-Berlinerkranser-Cookies.htm

Thanks for the link! Happy holidays! 😊

Directions:
Add chick peas, lemon juice, tahini, olive oil and minced garlic to a food processor and blend. Stop the processor after a minute and scrape down the sides.
Add sweet red peppers, cumin, paprika, salt and Cayenne pepper to the mixture and blend again. You will have to stop the processor and scrape down the sides of the bowl 2 or 3 times during this process.

Blend until the entire mixture is smooth. Pour the dip into a serving dish and refrigerate until ready to eat. Will last for 7 days refrigerated and makes 2 cups of dip. Great served with raw vegetables, crackers, or it can be used as a salad topping.
