First of I will tell you a little bit about myself, my steemit history and then I will be announcing my Idea and I think it's AWESOME!
I'm Ernst-Jan Haenen. A 25-year-old boy from the Netherlands. I've been a poker player in the past. I have travelled and I've always been enjoying life. About three weeks ago I started with investing my savings into cryptocurrencies. First of I was excited but overwhelmed as well so I started to dig deeper and I found something that got my attention. Yes, That's right Steem. I started to research and after after understanding most of it I decided to put my money towards Steem power. I've never made a better decision;). What a love we give each other in this community! Then I tried to post some blogs and I started to think about what I could add towards this community. I did some posts where one or 2 were adding some value but the others are quite average to be honest. I just do not have the knowledge like @jerrybanfield who knows a lot about cryptocurrencies and helped me understand Steem. Thnx for that Jerry! I also really appreciate the work @stephenkendal is doing promoting Steem. But now I think I actually can ad something exciting for everyone reading this. Let me explain.
this is the Idea:
I'll be starting a daily Quiz and this is how it works.
- From Monday till Friday I will be doing a daily quiz.
- 5 times a week every day at the same time at 19:00 ( CEST) Central European Summer Time) UTC/GMT +2hours
- Each quiz will contain 10 questions.
- 9 questions are worth 1 point and 1 question is worth 2 points. The 2 point question will be highlighted.
- The quiz lasts for 5 days. Starts on Monday ends Friday. It doesn't matter when u start participating. If u start on Wednesday and you still score the most points at the end of the quiz on Friday, u will win.
- U can only comment once on every question. Commenting twice on the same question will result in a -1 point.
- Total points to be earned 11 daily, 55 weekly.
- Here's the number of winners and how prices are divided.
0 - 25 players
1 Winner.
25-100 players
3 Winners. (nr 1 gets 50%, 2 gets 30% and nr 3 gets 20%)
100+ players.
I'll be making some adjustments when we reach this level. (I'd hope that will be soon).
- Questions are made by me. It can be anything. All my questions contain 1 good answer.
- You receive 1 or 2 points (depends on the questions your answering) when you are the FIRST with the good answer in the comments below.
- Answers must contain the number of the question. If you know the answer to question 3 say: 3 + the good answer.
- I will be uploading daily and weekly standings after each quiz has finished. That will be when there are 10 correct answers given.
- Questions will vary, so everbody can join!!
Now you will probably be thinking, how is a prize pool is created.
That's simple. Every quiz will be worth an X amount of money. The more people join and upvote the post the more money will go towards the Price pool. Posts rewards are paid out by Default: 50% / 50%. All the SBD goes towards the Pricepool. For example:
On Monday 50 people will compete in the Quiz and the quiz is worth $150.
On Tuesday the Quiz will reach $225
On Wednesday $150
On Thursday $190
On Friday $200
The Final amount for the Winner(s) will be $150+225+150+190+200= $915.
All the steem dollars I receive are Won by the Winners of the Quiz.
The winners Will receive their price 7 days after the Quiz they have won. That's the time I will receive the money from Steem.
There are some other things I'd like to say:
- Please spread the word If you think this is A nice Idea. The more attention this post gets the more money there will be to win!
- Resteeming and Upvoting is a Win-Win situation. I'll be putting the earnings of THIS post towards the Prizepool as well!
- The more big Fish will join the more money will be won.
- Minnow or Whale chances are EQUAL. Nevertheless, the more upvotes from whales the higher the price pool, so be sure to spread the word;)
The one who Provides me with the nicest Logo for the Quiz will Have the honor to see his / her logo at every quiz.
The same for the one with the best Quiz-name!
Please, If I forgot something please ask in the comments below. I have been creating this on my own so I might forget something. If so, please let me know.
If there are some things not right or not clear I'll be changing them ASAP.

This is a good community idea, but on online platform such as this may be vulnerable to things like...google. The right answers will be at everyone's fingertips. Then there's also comment editing. Even with these potential flaws, I still like this idea though.

I've thought about that. I will be asking questions that will consist guessing or others things. Don't u worry I thought about that. If there's a question that is on google that's fine as well. That's not the point in my opinion. What do u mean with comment editing? In this blockchain u are not able to change your comments, is it?

It's simple I will be making screen shots and ill ask people to do the same. If there are cheaters there will be a zero tollerance policy and those people will automatically be on a blacklist. I don't think they will try it either. I really need more people to see this page, I'm trying to reach out but it doesn't work so far. Any ideas?

I know :( Thanks for noticing. But the time 7 pm is 6 pm here and that's when things get a little crazy with 4 kids. Gaelic football practice etc. So I'm hoping to be there next time you organise something like this. But will still resteem etc to help out :)
That's very kind and I totally understand. Yeah it's pretty hard to get a lot of attention doing it on your own so that would be really nice. There goes a lot of hours in the Quiz and it's still quite simple and unnoticed but I'm enjoying is that's what matters for now! groetjes
I like yr idea and I like the possibility to partecipate in some quiz, manytime it is not the final price the most important thing, but to be involved in something and at 74 of age also to keep running the brain which sometime is not following my wishes,...... so let´start
That's awesome to hear. It's a community driven project. I think it will be a lot of fun for anybody! Great to hear you're 74 and want to be involved. I will start the Quiz Monday. Until the start of the Quiz I will try to promote the quiz as much as I can. I hope you will do the same and I'm really looking forward to it.

While that's a very good idea, you should make the entire process of judging easy for you.
I feel, doing that will make judging easier. Also, for a quiz like this where there is a possibility of Googling - common sense questions will work better.
