The 'Pocalypse Poetry Challenge DAY 1 ROUND 1 (2 x 10SBD prizes to be won)
Hello beautiful Steemians.
Here is an opportunity to release the poet within. And exercise that poetic arm.
Welcome to day 1 of the 'Pocalypse Poetry Challenge.
This is a daily poetry contest that is being hosted by three people: @hopehuggs, @superbuckles and @novaatebatman that will run alongside Steem-Apocalypse.
We will will be rotating who posts the 'Pocalypse Poetry Challenge and Contest, so make sure to pay attention and not to miss a single post!
It maybe helpful for you to follow each of us,but that is up to you.
A Reminder of the Prizes
--Daily Winners: Every day the three judges will pick their favorite poem from that day and all three will resteem it.
--Grand Prize: The person that writes a poem for every day of STEEM-POCALYPSE will receive a $10 SBD prize. In the event that multiple people accomplish this, the three judges will go over their poems and decide upon one winner.
--Grand Prize: At the end of the contest the three judges will go over all the submitted poems and decide upon their overall favorite poem. That poem will be awarded a $10 SBD prize.
How to enter Today:
(1) Write a poem based on/or inspired by this game post by @papa-pepper:

Poems must be between 8-50 lines.
(2) Make a post with your poem and post the link in the comments for the 'Pocalypse Poetry Challenge and Contest post for that day. (If you don't wish to make your own post, you may post your poem in the comments instead.)
(3) Upvote and Resteem the contest posts you post your entries on.
(4) On this post, poems will only be accepted for Day 1 Round 1 of STEEM-POCALYPSE.
Once Day 1 Round 2 of STEEM-POCALYPSE has been posted, there will be a new post Pocalypse-Poetry post by @superbuckles
Important notes
--You do not have to participate in STEEM-POCALYPSE to enter a poem into the competition.
-- You may join in the contest at any point, however, if you have missed previous days, you aren't eligible for the prize for writing a poem for each day. You will still qualify for the overall favorite poem prize and the daily favorite resteems.
--If we don't manage to post straight after @papa-pepper's STEEM-POCALYPSE due to being out, or asleep - rest assured there will be a post and get your poems for that day ready for us.THERE WILL BE A POST by @hopehuggs, @novaatebateman or @superbuckles.
--The very last poem must include the winner(s) of STEEM-POCALYPSE.

My safe haven is now all but gone
The knocks made me lose my brawn
I escaped out the fire hatch
Before my sanity was snatched.
Out on the road now
I have no chow
I don't know what to do
Don't want to bump into you!
Would a up in a tree be okay?
A place to silently pray.
A deserted flower shop?
In need of a good mop.
Tired, need to choose
out on the road I will lose
What about the van?
Sounds a good plan.

Oh I fear, the end is near... what is that? I think I hear
Someone knocking at my door? Or breaking in? Oh no, what for?
I must get out, I have to flee, down the fire escape for me,
alas I went for option 3, and now I'm chilling in a tree.
THIS IS A NEAT IDEA REALLY MAKES YOU THINK. HERE IS MY ENTRY FOR ROUND 1 THE JOURNEY BEGINS.
I usually go with free-verse, but found inspiration that allowed me some easy rhymes. So I went with it. I'm actually rather pleased with how it turned out. (Don't worry guys, as cohost I can't win anything. This is just for fun.)
