Do We Live In The Matrix?
Theoretical Physicist Finds Computer Code in String Theory
How could we discover whether we live inside a Matrix? One answer might be: Try to detect the presence of codes in the laws that describe physics. And this is precisely what Dr. James Gates Jr. has done. Specifically, within the equations of supersymmetry he has found, quite unexpectedly, what are called “doubly-even self-dual linear binary error-correcting block codes.” That’s a long-winded label for codes that are commonly used to remove errors in computer transmissions, for example to correct errors in a sequence of bits representing text that has been sent across a wire.
Gates explains, “This unsuspected connection suggests that these codes may be ubiquitous in nature, and could even be embedded in the essence of reality. If this is the case, we might have something in common with the Matrix science-fiction films, which depict a world where everything human being’s experience is the product of a virtual-reality-generating computer network.”

I have read the paper on N-Extended Super-symmetry and there are NO CODE, nope! no code what so ever. This is pure fiction done to get viewers that can´t check facts for the self!
The only thing they even got to stand on is the type of mathematical expressions regarding information representation in N-Extended Super-symmetry is looking a bit like shannon coding!

These kind of codes are seen everywhere and its just information resembling.
They are needed in: Lie algebras (especially E8) check the paper, so its just a fun coincidence and it looks like hammering code :). Other areas as well latices , reflection groups ( which i work with now ) sphere packing you name it!

Is anyone even listening to what the man says. People need to stop conflating the two. The equation we use to try to describe the universe or reality is what he is saying. He is not talking about reality itself just reality as we understand it through our math equations. @icedrum

James Gates Jr. made some excellent points that some of the panel found hard to take on board ... it is a very interesting topic! Do we live in a mathematical Universe? I think yes - but there are so many more dimensions to understand - and many struggle with our 3 dimensional world :D

There may be a possibility that we are living in a matrix. I haven't read the man's equations but how strongly you put the point makes me wanna ponder over te issue. We live in 3 dimensional realm and I know for sure that there are more than 6 dimensional realm. (Thanks to doctor strange). This thought isn't new and existed at the time of Albert Einstein who certainly disagreed the point and made wat we know as the "THEORY OF EVERYTHING"..
With this POTUS I sure as hell hope so ... I hope this sh$t ain't all real dog.

I remember that interview he had with other physicists years ago, well it's just how the way universe works with a common rule to it just like how maths works and balances out with nature.
It's very fascinating to think how it all relates. Waiting for the string theory to awake and govern everything, hopefully we will have it by 2050s. Let's just hope that.
