Did you know "There are total about 16000 Nuclear Weapons all over the world".

Have you ever wondered where are all those massive beasts stored? Well lets find out the answer.

So, where are all the Nuclear bombs Stored?

Only five countries in this world are allowed to have the nuclear weapons. Those five countries are China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States.But they are stored in the dozen of countries, so where are they actually stored? According to 2015 report there are approximately 16000 Nuclear weapons spread out across 98 sites in 14 Countries. Only 4000 of them are operationally available and only 1800 of them are on high alert.

The US alone has 7,200 Warheads but not all of them are stored in US. Most of the war heads of US are stored by the friendly European countries. Some of them are Germany, Belgium , Italy, Netherlands and Turkey. Approximately, 180 nuclear warheads are stored by these countries in an underground vault only accessible by the US. This practice of Storing nuclear warheads around the world is known as "Nuclear Sharing".

But why is it done? Why is it stored in different countries?

Well Storing the nuclear weapons abroad is according to the "Defense Treaty". According to this treaty, a powerful nuclear state promises a non-nuclear state to protect them. And this also reduces the response time in case of a nuclear attack. In turn provides protection to all the nuclear holding nations.

Beside hosting nuclear weapons in other countries, Many nuclear countries like US, UK and Russia maintains war ready nuclear bombs on the submarine circling the globe.

UK have one Submarine armed with 16 missiles and 48 nuclear warheads. There are approximately 11 of those submarine.

US's submarine have 24 ballistic missiles.and There are 18 of those Submarines.

Israel is also estimated to have 80-200 nuclear warheads. Most of their warheads are stored near the air bases. where they can attach the bombs to the Fighter Jets in the case of war.

Pakistan is estimated to have 100-200 nuclear warheads spread throughout the country.

But No one really knows whats going on with North Korea. Although they have conducted many nuclear tests no one really knows how many of them are there and where are they stored.

Russia has 4,490 nuclear warheads spread through out its 40 facilities.

China has only about 250 war heads spread thou out various facilities inside China.

And France has only about 80 war heads.
