Red Fish Rockets

A couple of weeks ago, I hosted the 'Red Fish Rocket Contest, in which I rewarded a couple of promising newcomers for their engagemeent efforts with a small delegation.

Now the time to retract the delegation has almost come , and I decided to give all of my Redfish Rockets another moment in the spotlight.

To my Redfih Rockets: I will retract the delegation next week, on September 6th. I'm confident you guys will be able to swim on your own by then.

Thank you so much @simplymike 😊 for the curation and also the delegation which bring me to a new experience and Now I know it's really hard to double it up if I didn't create good posts and build a good engagement with each other.
So grateful for your kindness and to know @headchange, @tryskele, and @buckaroo.. come on ladies 😉 we're not on the top ten engagement league yet😄

Aahh.. I almost forget this one "Congratulation to you, Dolphin🐋

Thanks, @cicisaja. It has been a pleasure to see you grow.
And you're right, creating good posts and engaging with others are two vital things when you want to succeed here on SteemIt

It really has been fun @cicisaja I think the red rocket club will live on far past our delegation time. Top ten here we come🏆🚀

Yes @headchange😉 I feel that we'd continued our fun time on Steemit, no matter we're minnow or redfish 😂 let's Rock🚀

I completely agree with @headchange. I still ran through it like water in a sieve, but being able to upvote each person in the @pifc contest and a few others. I've almost doubled my SP. Thank you so much @simplymike for the help you have given. I truly appreciate it.

Thank you for making the most of it. Almost doubled your SP, that's quite an achievement. Congratulations on that! But to be fair, that was not only the delegation; I've noticed you've been working really hard. If you keep that up, you will be able to double it again in no time :0)

I have to agree with simplymike on this one. You manage an unbelievable amount of Steeming. The work you do on the pay it forward initiative alone would be overwhelming for me.
I try to visit as many as possible but id really does eat a massive amount of sp. That is not even counting in all the time required.
I think if you keep this up you are well on the way to minnow.

Thank you! I have been meaning to ask about the end date. I knew it was coming up soon. I have so enjoyed it. The boost was a huge game changer for me and transformed my whole steeming experience.
I also think it was a huge help with account growth. I am pretty happy with how far my account has come in a few weeks. So much so that I feel it will be to my advantage to lease some sp.
It is amazing how much extra engagement is possible with just a few extra courtesy votes to hand out.
Thanks again for everything it really meant the world to me and my small account.

Glad to hear it has made such a difference.
Honestly, it did for me too. I had seen your name pass by a couple of time before the Redfish Rocket Contest, but in fact you were just another name in the giant list of names. During these 8 weeks, that changed a lot. I'm pretty sure we are having conversations daily, and I started considering you as someone from my 'closer' circle. So it was a win-win :0)

Same here I had been seeing you around in a lot of the places I frequent but just in passing.
I honestly started out just doing my small part to return the support. Somewhere along the line that turned into genuine connection.
I kind of feel like winning the red rocket and all that came with that was amazing. Yet the long term gains in the friendships formed are beyond measure.
You will be glad to know that all of your red rockets were friends before but those relationships also have deeped over the past few weeks.
I am pretty sure that even though the contest is drawing to a close the relationships will remain intact. You may have done a bit more than you originally envisioned with this one.
I know I for one will still be lurking about.

Hey @simplymike thanks for being the first to delegate to my @steeming-hot bot.
I just chucked another 100 steem power on it to boost it a bit more :)

I'm not completey sure what it is all about, but I thought I'd give it a try, lol

Thanks, @thecrytotrader.
I have a feeling things are changing: more and more people are taking initiatives to support others.
Have you seen @hitmeasap's new initiative?

Ya looks like big players are now wants to attract more people to join Steemit and also helping them.

And every little bit counts, right?! Lol.
I'e commited myself to @hitmeasap's new initiative, and currently I'm thinking of taking two actions on my own

  • Another Red fish Rocket. The thing I am doubting about is whether I sould make it available for users with 200-400Sp (as they are more likely to stay on the platform and I can help them get closer to that 500sp milestone) or keep.it the way it is: focusing on users with less than 50sp, to save them from bandwidth trouble.

  • Adopt a minnow for a week/ month. I've been reading other posts, but I'm still not sure about a lot of things.
I would let possible participants write a post about why they want to be adopted. That's about the only thing I'm sure of.

For the adopted minnow, I would be open to answer all question, and give them at least two 50% posts a day (or maybe one 100% upvote a day.) I would resteem a couple of his post to give him more exposure. Maybe give a small delegation... I'm not sure what else I can do.

But again, I'm not sure which level of minnows would benefit most from such an initiative. IMO, I should target users with 300-480SP, but I don't know what the effect of such a support program would be.

Adopting them for a week would be too short to make a differencd, I think. 2 weeks? A month?

And I've been thinking about criteria I have to set up. For example post regularly (but what is regularly?) Original and quality content,...
I even wonder if I can make it niche-based: since I don't know a thing about for example programming or technology, I think it is hzrd for me to determine whether the content is good or not.

Sorry for all the questions, but I was wondering whether you might have any experience in these things and could give me some advice ....

Well adopting a minnow is for sure a good thing and helpful for them but in today's time it's really hard to decide that who is a minnow in reality bcz as you know most of the steemians using Bidbots and increased their reputation unreasonably and bcz of that many people started thinking that he is not a minnow anymore and he is no able to survive on its own,

And according to me this is the most lethal thing for minnows bcz they are not acting like a minnow and buying huge upvotes,

According to me Delegating steempower is a much better option then adoptioone minnow only bcz we can take control on things easily and also guid them about how they should use that power to help others and themselves also.

So i prefer a monthly Delegation bcz if we want to do a weekly Delegation then we have to wait for 7 days to get back our Delegation back and to Delegate it to others.

So i think you should do something with a Delegation contest.

That's how I selected these girls. I made them compete in @abh12345's engagement league and chose the 4 that engaged the most. They all had under 50sp, and I delegated 75sp to each. To keep the delegarion, they needed to keep up their engagement level to remain listed in the league list. The initial idea was to get them out of the bandwidth error zone.

This edition was a success, but last time 2 out of 4 delegatees left SteemIt. Which makes me wonder if it wouldn't be more helpful/beneficial to select people who have between, for example 250 and 400SP. Those people have already shown they are commited and are more likely to stick around...

Ya it's true but giving power to those who already got enough is not an ideal solution but still give it a try and see if you got some good results.

This was really a nice way to help new users. My faith in Steem always goes up when I see these kinds of things.
