Announcing the winners of the Redfish Rocket contest. Find out who won the 75SP delegation by engaging like a king.
The Contest
About two weeks ago, I launched the 🚀 Redfish Rocket Contest: Win A 75 SP Delegation And Steem On.
The goal of the contest was to enable a couple of Steemians with under 50SP to escape the bandwidth error zone and grow a little faster.
The 14 contestants had to ‘battle’ each other with words. Comments, to be more specific.
The 3 participants who would score the most points in @abh12345’s Engagement League would win a 75 SP delegation for 8 weeks.

The Winners
When I saw the new Engagement League @abh12345 posted earlier today, i was in for a very special surprise.
Unless my eyes fooled me, I noticed no less than 3 names of the participants in the top 20!!
That’s the way to go! You guys and girls did better than I could have ever imagined. You did not only beat the other competitors, but also a lot of veterans.

@headchange: 11th place (I told you you could pull this off!)
@tryskele: 20th place
@buckaroo ended in 37th place.
@cicisaja, you did a great job, but I just noticed you crossed the 50SP line by yourself already. Congratulations on that! Unfortunately, that rules you out for the game, but if you keep going at this pace, you will be doing more than fine here on SteemIt.
so I'll be assigning @buckaroo as winner number 3.
If anyone of you have any questions, help or advice - about anything - feel free to contact me and I will try to help you out as good as I can.

I only have one condition for you to keep your delegation for the full 8 weeks: I want to see your name somewhere on that list every week again. I want you to show me you’re serious about SteemIt, and you’re prepared to put in an effort to grow your account.
I need to be sure you’ll be making the most out of this delegation.
Don’t you worry: I’m the first to understand that life can get in the way sometimes.
In case you need to be absent for a while, or you can’t live up to the agreement, please notify me, so we can work out a deal. It would be a shame to let this opportunity go to waste, right?!

This has been such a fun week! Thank you so much @simplymike for the delegation and for the contest. This was such a great way to choose the winners. I know for a fact that this provided several of us with many hours of competitive fun this week. I know a couple of us had a fantastic time with it.
I should congratulate not only the other winners but all who played. I truly hope everyone gained as much from the playing as
i did. Just getting on that list is hard. Believe me I know.
Never thought I would be so happy to be worth a penny.
I am still kind of in awe not only to have won, but I never scored this high on the list before. Putting in the effort is a bit of an understatement. somewhere along the line it hit me. If I were to put this much effort into making real dollars I could just buy the SP.
But something else happened as I had to figure out how to beat the other contestants I also learned what it takes to place on the leagues. Not only that but all of the commenting truly does have its own rewards.
I will be thinking about that for a few days letting it sink in. I knew a few days ago that win or lose my whole Steemit experience has transformed into something different.
I am very excited to see what it is like to experience Steemit with a bit more of a vote.

Oh it was nothing nefarious only that it is an entirely different form of engagement once the comments begin to look like mini blog posts. Also all that bantering back and forth that
I do just for a fun stress release sure will build up a quick over all count.
Seems like having a good mix of both types is one way to hit the top twenty. Which by the way was also a goal of mine for the last couple weeks.
as far as those epic novel length comments go, I am struggling with balance a bit on that score. My posting frequency is lacking. The top ten of the league get out several posts a week. So yeah I know step up the game. I intend to make the best use possible of my eight weeks.
If I can figure out how lol
On good days, I also post comments that are longer than my posts. Takes up so much time that could be spent on other things. But once I start talking/writing, I often can’t stop, lol.
It happens to me all the time that I’m so busy commenting that at the end of the day I finf myself with not enough time to write a post anymore...
I have bern thinking about turning those long comments into posts, and then reference to those in my commrnts, but that doesn’t feel like the right thing to do ;0)
I find I have that problem too. Especially when it's something I'm passionate about. I have had a few people tell me they would like to see some of the longer comments be turned into posts. If you were to do it, I think it would be great!!
If the conversation is really good I am finding it just spans posts and continues on. The thing is authentic relationships develop that way.
My brain goes a little dead after a while. End of the day posting for me would be a disaster. I may try turning off Gina and writing in the morning. The coffee usually has me yapping away.
Maybe just write on the same theme and forget the reference. If your thoughts run like mine it will take on a life of its own anyway.
It can be hard for little fish like me to always figure out the right things to do. There sure are a lot of subtle undercurrents to watch out for.
That is so funny. But so true! I also noticed the comments were starting to look like mini posts @headchange. And my posts have been far less but the interaction is way more fun. I've been away for the last two days so I totally missed this post. Just heard via my brother (who likes spying on my Steemit activity) that I had an amazing SP delegation. I totally forgot about this contest because I have been suddenly finding I spend more time on the comments since joining Steemit. Oops. Umm...mini post

Thanks. As you would expect it had its down moments, but on the whole it was positive. The funeral was a celebration of his life rather than a tear-fest. I got to catch up with some friends I haven't seen in far too long and I got to spend some time with family as well. Now it's back to work for a rest

That's OK @simplymike.. I don't feel like I'm being punished at all, I realised the consequences and you're just being fair, I did break the rules😊 ..but Thank you so.much for the delegation..just found it in my wallet. Now I will try my other strategies to optimize the delegation SP to grow mine.

Did anyone notice that all of the winners here are from our little @pifc community? Being active there gives so much opportunity to visit the features, contestants, and judges/ sponsors.
I never have the SP to get to them all I think this week could see a bit of a boost with that for me.
P.S I also don't do as well with curation. Maybe if you get that one figured out I will learn from you.
Hihihi.. actually we can read it @abh12345 post and try to use that trick😉 i've tried it once and I made my name on the curation charts for a week😆 but then, I'm back to my old habit. Fall in love to the blue arrow on my fellow planktons posts. This week gonna be tough because I run a comment contest for the achenese, it will drain my vp.. but I still have 3 days to catch up with. I'll drag you to any best curation trick posters if I found it.

My problem with it is a lot like yours. Seems like most of the big fish would care less about my little vote or even notice it. On the other hand their are a lot of little fish who are delighted to have a bit of support and encouragement.
I have not studied the numbers but think any curation that comes my way is because of the communities that I try to support as much as possible. Most of the time I consider my vote to be mostly just a token vote. A little nod of appreciation.
I am still so excited to have a delegation. That will change everything for its duration. Hope to at least gain some insight into "voting wisely"

My brother who loves spying on my Steemit account told me that I had to check out my amazing SP delegation and I was puzzled. I had forgotten about this contest. I really enjoy and appreciate the commenting. I think there are two types that sign up to Steem. Those that want to make money. Versus those that are after community. Learning. Growing. Supporting. Laughing. Sharing. The prizes are a bonus, sure. But the great people make it worth it. Thanks again for such an amazing opportunity. PLUS my delegation. I intend to pay it forward
