A weekly recap with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries, betting angles, ...
Extra Time resised.jpg

Just some basic notes this week as the cold weather and possible bad pitches blow many angles out of the window.

Waasland

Waasland showed what they are capable at the start of the 2nd half where they totally dominated Standard in an impressive way. Coach Clement warned that his team has no players that are used to play 10 matches straight. It will be interesting to see what they can do. They had a 120minute match on an unplayable pitch which is something they might drag along this week. Still high over potential on this team.

Standard

Last week I wrote that I'm not yet fully sold on this team which showed in the match against Waasland. Right now they are a team to me that can both be backed and opposed based on how they play.

Oostende

Oostende had some missings in their defense for this match and it was a match without many chances. Oostende showed difficulties to break a defense. This match and the cup loss against standard breaks their winning pattern a bit. I have no clear opinion on Oostende right now

Mechelen

Mechelen played good defense which is something I will look out for when betting.
At the same time Goalkeeper Coosemans was their best player. Still a team that I'm willing to oppose.

Genk

Their coach was fired after this match. Genk are in a real low with fans no longer showing up and overall play being nowhere near the level they were capable of at the end of last year. Right now interim coach Daerden who took the penalty win in the mid-week cup match is in place and Genk are aiming to get Clement who is coach from Waasland Beveren.

Eupen

Eupen has been causing systematic money flow on the betting markets. If you want to bet them you best take the opening lines, if you want to oppose them bet the closing lines. I have a hard time evaluating them right now with the changing of styles. They shine in offense but this totally breaks down when the focus on defense. I can go all directions on Eupen live.

Antwerp

Overall deserved 1-0 win for Antwerp who got 21 shots on goal. They started with an offensive line-up but only managed to score the first goal in minute 71 after which the defended that lead. Still looking for the overs if they get behind and unders away against better teams

Moeskroen

I have no clear read on Moeskroen at this moment. They are wait and see.

AA Gent

I'm putting Gent a bit higher on my list after a coule good performances where they showed belief. They did fall back after a good ist half though. Dejaegere will be out next match. I'm willing to back Gent if they are the better team in a match.

Kortrijk

Kortrijk in this match showed that they are not bad, they got lucky to take the lead early and were the better team in the 2nd half when 2-1 behind. They also managed to win from Gent with 4-1 in the cup. Past couple weeks they seem to have become a more over team which is something I will look out for.

Club Brugge

Really strong 1st half from Club Brugge but they totally fell back in the 2nd half while being up 3-0. Their cup match did not go trough because the pitch was unplayable.

Lokeren

Lokeren again played better when being behind this match, I'm still looking for a spot to fade them when they take the lead.

Anderlecht

Poor match from Anderlecht who really looked defeated near the end. They have shown excellent away form though and always perform good in matches against Club Brugge. I am probably holding my bets for after new year when coach finally had some time to really work with the group.

Charleroi

Same old chanerloi, they are probably the most reliable team in the league on what you can expect as pointed out many times in previous roundups.

Stvv

Stvv managed to make a comeback in the match despite a red card in what was an open match. Where luck was with them early on in the season it, it has now been going against them.

Zulte-Waregem

Zulte-Waregem again was unable to win, but coach dury is not in question even not in de media. This team has a lot of quality but has a lot of problems with the many matches. This will be something to really keep an eye on in years to come. Young groups who play europa league and aren't used to it can really get into a bad streak. I'm holding all my bets for after new year on them. Overs specially late in the match remain a option open for betting.
