Gloom is written,
on front doors;
like a steady knock from "The ripper"
enclosed in anxiety'
is the heart of man
beating in an unwholesome rhythm
but hope like a light
might shimmer through
like tiny rays
peeping in glorious sunshine.

"A stitch in time" we know,
for the cloudy clouds
writes a sonnet
of the evenings
when the rain will come
battering like a thousand hoof
for we have been warned!
the rainbow in the sky,
an unspoken premonition
of how tomorrow will be.

At the threshold of life,
windows will open,
ajar, flung wide by the wind
will our anchor hold firm?
or our foundations shaken?
the moment of mist
will dwell in our midst,
for what tidings
will the mouth begat?
when the time comes?

The forest will echo,
like the belly of a whale
and the soul will shudder
we have been warned
of slippery things
that lurks menacingly
on the road to providence
"a stick in time"? We know
but how shall we quell the storm?
on the moon gate of truiumph?
