It's not much better than this—enjoying the beautiful cherry blossoms with family.
The blossoms they are enjoying are the earliest blooming cherry blossoms, called Kawazu Cherry Blossoms (河津桜 kawazu zakura), which may start blooming as early as February when the plum blossoms are still in full bloom. They aren't as popular as the Yoshino Cherry Blossoms, but popular enough that you can still find them in many places. They are a rich pink and they must have a smell, tho I can't smell it, because the Mejiro love this kind and are always flying around them.
Here is another edit of this photo I made for a print I sold a while ago. In it I brightened up the flowers more and added a texture to the entire scene.

Both photos are great, but I think I like the first one the best. I thought you were going to tell me that you couldn't smell the flowers because you can't smell anything. Alas, my husband lost his sense of smell sometime as a child - his mom thinks it was from a high fever! Anyway, it's awesome when flowers are beautiful and they also smell wonderful! Have a great day!
Oh I'm sorry to hear that. No, I have my smell. Just whatever scent these blossoms give off, it is not for humans—or not for adults anyway... I should ask my son if he smell anything next year when they bloom again.
