Explosive Clouds :: Beautiful Japan #43steemCreated with Sketch.

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.

Not sure if that quote really fits this scene... ;) These are more explosive clouds than peaceful clouds floating gently into my life. In summer in Japan these kind of clouds are everywhere. I'm not sure what causes them. They appear quite violent, don't they? More like war clouds!

Hi thereDavid LaSpina is an American photographer lost in Japan, trying to capture the beauty of this country one photo at a time.

I wouldn't want to get lost in such clouds. They are very alarming and seem too threatening. But the picture is very beautiful. I always dream of trying to take photos of clouds, but, to my regret, we basically just gray sky. :(

You never get a nice sky where you are? That is one thing I always like about Japan. Back home in the US we get a lot of ugly grey skies, especially in winter (all winter is basically grey). But here in Japan most skies are blue and nice, even in winter.

We in St. Petersburg the average is only 72 Sunny days a year. Basically it's like this - all the shades of grey. That's why our city looks very bright and beautiful , only because of the magnificent architecture.

Only 72 sunny days a year? Wow... that's too bad. But you do have amazing architecture there, so that helps. I love some of the super colorful buildings of the Nordic countries. Are there any like that there?

Yes! it looks sometimes like that...

Ah I see. I like that! Most of Japan's buildings are not very colorful, unfortunately.

Those are gorgeous clouds. I see a creature laying face up with fish lips and a hand rising up from the clouds!

Interesting cloud vision. I'm not sure I can see that... but I do see a few faces in there.

Thanks for sharing :)

You're very welcome!

Ahhh now I can kind of see!

I like the screen writing feature of my Note 8... It does help me share what I see <3 thank you again for sharing the beautiful image.

Looks like a volcano eruption to me

Yes, that was exactly what I thought the first time I saw these. Hmm.. I said these are common in Japan, but maybe I should specify they are common in the Tokai area. Do you see clouds like this in your part of Japan?

I live close to the sea and I haven't seen those close around here. However the early autumn sky looks also very particular around my area, hard to describe though

You should try to take some photos of it :)

I will, next year ;)
I might even have some somewhere
