Travel with Barry: E. 11 - The Western Canada + Prairies Roadtrip Continues: | Bible Colleges & Seminaries in Manitoba, Saskatchewan & BC. | Life on the Road.
The journey continues today from my roadtrips around North America.
You have to remember, these pictures are from 2006 and so is the technology I was using then. Digital Cameras were not what they are today, so the quality suffers.
I am in / around the prairies in SK (Saskatchewan) and MB (Manitoba) areas here today.
That is a classic grain elevator right there!
The trip is filled with a PILE of great memories from my 2006 Bible College / Seminary Tour that I affectionately called
Coast to Coast with the Holy Ghost.

Here is another one of the bible colleges / seminaries I stayed at or ministered at along the way of my 25 weeks on the road!
Yes, I really did stop along the way to take all kinds of pictures of everything to capture all the memories. LOL.
Quality signs like this on the roads or highways are great visual reminders of "crossroads" or to multiple cities along the journey.
There will be a lot of pictures from this part of my life, as it was very important for me and a lot of fond memories travelling the country, looking at bible colleges and seminaries, and ministering along the way as the Good Lord saw fit even with my imperfections......
... which really is part of the life in Christ, according to scripture.

I met Chad there in the brown coat that winter out at a bible college/seminary in the Prairies so when he needed a ride to the airport to go home to BC for a visit, I drove him the 60 or 90 mins or so over there to help him out.
When I stayed on the campus at the Briercrest Bible College and Seminary, we met and just hung out a lot and got along, talked about life and challenges and God, all that stuff.
We ate lunch together a lot of the time too. He is from BC.
This unique statue is in the Saskatchewan Airport in Regina, SK. in Canadastan. (:

Here is me in bad light, with that old camera --- up above the sign (we made), to really put the size of things in perspective.
We left this up along the highway just like this. I was told checking in with friends --- it stayed up for months.
None of the residents, police or gov't workers took it down for a long time.
It meant a lot to me, I never thought I would get to see any of Canada.... let alone spend 25 weeks on the road in my car, seeing a lot of the prairies and western Canada -- and the legendary British Columbia too.
I was pretty excited LOL.
That is me again, below the sign, which is 6 feet or off the ground, on the highway, set back. I am literally standing on about 6' of snow here, and yes, that is my hockey stick and shirt you see, with a felt Team Canada hockey fun version of a hockey helmet I used along the journey as my toque, eh??!!

These memories may not mean anything to anyone else but me, and that is OK.

This done one better ---- It is a moose dressed in the RCMP outfit of the Mounties -- the Federal / National Police Force.
As usual, I will offer minor political commentary on the spotted past of the RCMP in the Police State here -- tied to Bill C-51, and the police state / mass surveillance bill, stealing the civil rights of people in this country.

Great trip by the looks of it. Did you find any Pizza? I loved Canada but it's years since I visited, loved Toronto best but I thought Ottawa interesting apart from the canal boat trip , very strange as they took you along a sort of flat canal, stopped and came back! Is this still happening I wonder. I loved the Canadians they were in turn welcoming and amusing. I was told that no-one in Toronto locks their doors! Now that is amazing. Thanks for the post.
LOL, doors are locked of course, I found lots of pizza and I have skated on the canal --- the Rideau Canal in Ottawastan
One of the guys I played with in the HS days was a captain on that Jr. Hockey Team when he was drafted to Ottawa out of our city in high school.

I guess you missed a post I did about 2 mths ago tied to Parkwood, the McLaughlins, GM and their early company names and locations!!!!! I did not plan it -- it really just started out as a post about Parkwood and 3-4 of the movies they filmed there and I just kept going LOL.
