Wir wollten den Menschen, die uns unterstützt haben, etwas zurückgeben.
Wir hatten aus Deutschland zwei große Pakete Filzstifte mitgebracht. Papier haben wir in Uganda gekauft. Michael und ich haben uns einen Nachmittag hingesetzt und die Namen der Spender auf einzelne Blätter geschrieben und zwar so,dass man die Buchstaben ausmalen konnte.
Am nächsten Tag ging es dann ab zur Schule. Natürlich waren einige Kinder (trotz Ferien) da.Sie wussten ja,dass wir kommen. Die Kinder bekamen jeder ein Namensblatt, Stifte und einen Lolli.
Dann wurde fleißig ausgemalt. Es war mucksmäuschenstill im Klassenraum. Die Kinder gaben sich richtig Mühe. Als alle Namensblätter fertig waren, kam das Fotoshooting.
We wanted to give something back to the people who supported us.
We brought two large packages felt pens from Germany. We bought paper in Uganda. Michael and I sat down for an afternoon and wrote the names of the donors on individual sheets that you could paint the letters.
The next day it goes off to school. Of course, there were some children (despite holidays) there. They knew that we were coming. The children each got a name sheet, pens and a lollipop.
Then it was painted diligently. It was quiet in the classroom. The children tried hard. When all the name sheets were finished, the photo shoot came.
Unser Plan war, ein Gruppenbild mit allen Namen zu machen. Das konnten wir allerdings erst an einem anderen Tag machen, da wir mehr Kinder brauchten. Wir machten erstmal die Einzelbilder. Diese und das Blatt mit dem Namen gaben wir später in Deutschland den Spendern.
Es waren schöne Momente. Manch einer hatte Tränen in den Augen.
Viele fanden es schön, dass sie sehen konnten,was wir mit ihrem gespendeten Geld gekauft haben. Außerdem sind die Kinder natürlich zuckersüß und sie berühren die Herzen. Wir hatten an dem Tag mit den Kindern eine Menge Spaß und die Zeit verging wie im Fluge.
Da nicht alle Spender online sind, haben wir eins der Fotos später in Deutschland zu einer Zeitung gegeben. Später haben sie dann sogar einen ganzen Artikel darüber gemacht. Darüber haben wir uns natürlich gefreut.

Our plan was to make a group picture with all names. We could not do that until another day because we needed more children. We took the frames first. This and the sheet with the name we gave later in Germany to the donors.
These were nice moments. Some had tears in their eyes.
Many thought it was great that they could see what we had bought with their donated money. In addition, the children are of course sweet-sweet and they touch the hearts. We had a lot of fun with the kids that day and time flew by.
Since not all donors are online, we gave one of the photos later in Germany to a newspaper. Later they even did a whole article about it.Of course we were happy about that.
