„Wir bringen Licht“-Die Geschichte unseres Uganda-Projekts / "We bring light" -The story of our Uganda project (Teil 2- Part 2)

Im Bwindi-Nationalpark in Uganda gibt es die Berggorillas. Sie sind vom Aussterben bedroht und es gibt sie nur in Ruanda,Uganda und im Kongo. Sie leben in Gebirgswäldern in 2000 bis 4000 m Höhe. Ein Highlight einer Ugandareise ist der Besuch der Berggorillas. Es gibt sie in keinem Zoo. Wir hatten natürlich große Lust,diese tollen Tiere in ihrer natürlichen Umgebung zu sehen. Der Preis von 600$ pro Person war für uns aber jenseits von Gut und Böse. Wir entschieden uns deshalb dagegen. Einige Monate,bevor es losgehen sollte, erbte mein Mann ein wenig Geld und zwar fast genau die Summe, die wir für das Gorilla-Trecking brauchten. Da es geschenktes Geld zur richtigen Zeit war...,ja was wohl? Gorillas,wir kommen!
Da pro Tag nur 8 Touristen pro Gorillagruppe erlaubt sind, muß man dies früh genug buchen und auch vorab bezahlen. Man könnte sonst Pech haben und keinen Platz mehr in der Wunschzeit bekommen.
Erstmal war das ein kleines Problem. Man muß in Uganda jemanden finden,dem man vertraut,dem man das Geld schickt und der das dann bucht.Wir brauchten auch eine Unterkunft in der Nähe des Bwindi-Nationalparks. Wir haben dann ein kleines Hotel gefunden, welches die Touren anbietet und außerdem in Verbindung zu einer Schule steht. Wir konnten keine negativen Posts im Netz finden, also haben wir dort alles klar gemacht. Besonders spannend fanden wir die Anbindung an die Schule.
Am Heiligen Abend 2016 kamen wir im Hotel am Lake Bunyonyi an. Es war mein 50. Geburtstag.
Eine Reisegruppe aus Lettland reiste am Nachmittag auch an. Die waren allerdings nicht sehr gesprächig, man muss schon sagen: unfreundlich.
Ich dachte,da bleibt also nur noch die Geburtstagsparty zu zweit...Crystal aus Kanada, die damalige
Mitinhaberin vom Hotel und der Schule kam allerdings am Abend mit einigen Kindern. Diese sangen und tanzten für mich (uns). Sie machten meinen 50. Geburtstag unvergesslich.

In the Bwindi National Park in Uganda there are the mountain gorillas. They are threatened with extinction and they only exist in Rwanda, Uganda and the Congo. They live in mountain forests at 2000 to 4000 m altitude. A highlight of a Uganda-journey is the visit of the mountain gorillas. They do not exist in any zoo. Of course, we had a great desire to see these great animals in their natural environment. The price of $ 600 per person was for us but beyond good and evil. We decided against it. A few months before we started, my husband inherited some money, almost exactly the amount we needed for gorilla trekking. Since it was free money at the right time ..., yes what? Gorillas, we are coming!
Since only 8 tourists per gorilla group are allowed per day, you have to book this early enough and pay in advance. You could otherwise be unlucky and get no more room in the desired time.
At first it was a little problem. You have to find somebody in Uganda whom you trust, who you send the money to and who books it. We also needed accommodation near the Bwindi National Park. We then found a small hotel that offers the tours and is also connected to a school. We could not find any negative posts on the net, so we made everything clear there. Particularly exciting we found the connection to the school.
On Christmas Eve 2016 we arrived at the hotel on Lake Bunyonyi. It was my 50th birthday.
A tour group from Latvia also arrived in the afternoon. They were not very talkative, you have to say: unfriendly.
I thought, so there is only the birthday party for two ... Crystal from Canada, the former
Co-owner of the hotel and the school came in the evening with some children. These sang and danced for me (us). They made my 50th birthday unforgettable.
