Beautiful Mt. Shasta
Clear Creek trail. Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area.
We hiked Clear Creek trail up the east side of Mt. Shasta. The trailhead is at 6,520 feet above sea level. We hiked up to about 8,000 ft. The air was crisp and clear despite the fires on the west side of the mountain.
Much of the trail is through a forest of mature redwoods.
With lots of green to yellowish moss.
What would a mountain hike be without some wildflowers? Although it is getting a little late in the season for wildflowers.
The views of Mt. Shasta are really incredible. There is also a view of Clear Creek Falls but it is across a valley and I did not get any good photos.

Thanks friend. Mt Shasta has several glaciers that are there year round.
Wow, it must be a huge challenge to hike up there!
not to bad on the section of the trail we hiked. to get to the glaciers you have to climb. the trail ends and only experienced climbers can go all the way to the top
Wow, last year I went to Bolivia and the higher I went was 6000 meters above the sea!
