"Inspired by @opheliafu" A Collaboration Reflection
"A wonderful place to collaborate." This is what I keep telling people about Steemit. I have been on here since August, 2017 and I have had MANY collaborations with artists - painter, poets, musicians, sculptors, and writers. For me, one artist in particular has spurred me on to create - @opheliafu.
As I reflect on the past few months a couple of artist come to mind as true inspirations for my own personal work. I will take this opportunity to highlight some of the work connected to @opheliafu.
@opheliafu has been an important part of my development here in Steemit. When I first arrived I found her paintings. Her work connected with me and I found myself going back to sit and ponder her work.
After a while I gathered the courage to present my musical interpretation of one of her works. I was frightened to death!! I did not know how my work would be received, but I wanted to show @opheliafu how her work was connecting with me and my music.
Black Tree
The first piece I used as an inspiration for my own composition was "Black Tree."

@opheliafu was very open and supportive of my work. Her professionalism and artistic integrity were guides to help me establish myself as a progressive and uncompromising artist here on Steemit.
I continued to explore @opheliafu's artwork and when I felt I had a clear musical idea based on a piece of her's I would record and post it. Here are some of @opheliafu's beautiful pieces and my musical responses.
Fairy Fern
There are many stories about Fairies here in Newfoundland. So when I saw @opheliafu's Fairy Fern images I knew I had to make some music around this....

We Lost Control
Some of @opheliafu's artwork have to do with UFOs and visitors from other planets. I am a UFO-nut!! So I immediately connected :)

Observer
While the violin is my main musical outlet, I do make music on many other instruments. I love electronic music and found myself drawn to it when I saw the painting "Observer"

Puzzling UFO
Recently @opheliafu has been doing a series of paintings on puzzle pieces - very cool. I decided to create a piece based on her UFO puzzle piece.

Moon Light
Moon Light comes up often in @opheliafu's artwork. She sometimes creates works in moon light and some of her works features moon light. Through the comments on one of her works we were chatting about this and I started to think about what moon light would sound like.

I am sure that I will continue to be inspired by @opheliafu's artwork. I hope I can continue to make music that in some way represents her lovely images.
