Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S05E08 "The Last Day" (My Review)
This episode is kinda like watching you're typical episode of Arrow.
Just to let you all know, the show Arrow is clearly turning into a shit series after season 4 or 5 can't seem to remember. Let's dive right in!!
For the people who haven't seen it yet just scroll down to "conclusion," and after if you don't want any spoilers.
Spoiler Review:
The only part I like the most was when Yo-Yo took out the monsters that was threatening the workers inside the lighthouse.
As far as I can remember the monolith was another interesting part of the episode. I love it when the episode ended with May saying they need Flint.
It felt obvious but it also felt that it was right under our noses the whole time.
The agents uncovering secrets of the old zephyr doesn't feel like a big mystery when they just discovered what its made out off and nothing else.
The episode didn't explain the two timelines or showed what happened in between the events of when they are currently at and their present.
Old Robin only lasted for this episode and then got stabbed.
So far that's pretty much all I can analyze for "The Last Day"
Conclusion:
The ending of this episode does bring it to a circle for the groups of main/supporting characters of the show. There really isn't much going on in this show that furthers the plot. I am not going to complain too much because almost all the previous ones have been amazing and when it comes to an entire season of binge watching there are going to be highs and lows. I guess you can say that this one is a break from all the suspense that has been going on in the beginning 7 episodes.
Back to beginning where I wrote that this draws similarities of the show Arrow. Like Arrow this episode has two different timelines and make parallelisms from the two especially with the character Robin. Like Arrow there is drama that nobody cares about like in the scenes between Deke and Voss. I don't remember the drama/conflict between the two or what happened to them but Voss knows Deke's dad and they were close. Am I supposed to feel sympathetic to Deke's tragic backstory? He does not feel like an important character but I get the feeling he would sacrifice himself later at the end of the season because he starts off as a selfish-person/antihero who becomes less of that.
Also the character Robin didn't shine that much as I thought she would be.
Many people will find this episode a bit boring since a good half it is where the characters spend time inside a broken plane/zephyr.
